I think prerequisite levels for feats is a great idea. But I'm not certain those specific class-level combinations are going to be popular (noting also when Feats are gained) unless there is a drive to balanced-level multiclassing in A5E?
However... I know the Proclaimers are going to be...
Points buy is not quite as far off the 4d6 distribution as it first looks. But you can get a closer match if you play around with the costs and totals. When I've done this before, the closest match I found with reasonable integers was:

4d6 Cost

I love the idea of an exhaustion die :)
My groups recently switched over to Horwath's clever system when I saw it here previously:
But I like the idea of doing that with an exhaustion die! d4->d6->d8->d10->d12->d20->doomed) which you subtract from your attacks, saves, checks, damage rolls...
Loving these, really inventive and a great way of capturing all the flair that can otherwise be hard to represent in combat - making the martial classes a lot more interesting. A concept that I hadn't spotted in the playtests is Anticipate Spell, Break Spell, Dispelling Charge & Purge Magic (and...
I hadn't thought of this when I read through but it's a good point. @vincegetorix's suggestion of spell slots could help but I think wizards would then need more slots, which could end up being used for other spells. Maybe the simplest suggestion is a pool of Arcane Energy that is basically just...
Vowed is a good call for Herald/Paladin. To be fair, it's just a name and not a big deal, we can call them what we like at our own tables. But for me a paladin is the holy muscle to the cleric's holy messenger. Or the Paksenarrion to the cleric's Goldmoon. The guardian angel to the cleric's...
Paladin has too much baggage but I'm not sure about herald. It's a shame champion is taken. Maybe guardian, warden or partisan? The class is well described by zealot but again baggage.
I really like the stronghold mechanics - simple but giving value. And threats to your party's investments become a really strong adventure hook (that could be any of exploration or social or combat pillar). Great idea.
Or link with proficiency bonus (see DMG for converting CR to PB) and can consider applying to PCs too. We have used something similar as a Defence modifier, although it scales -2 AC to +2 AC for CR/levels up to 20.
I don't think we know yet for A5E. There have been a few different discussions of it in the forums. I like degree of success/failure and my groups have used a few different versions of it. DC/AC +10 is fine so long as all rolls, and so all characters (and monsters), can benefit from it - HP feel...
Agree :) Had a go at this on this thread: Level Up (A5E) - Degree of Success/Failure - esp for Skill Checks, although agree it's the kind of option that may never fit in a core rules book. Expanded it as part of Nebelun’s Pandect of Possibilities (external link), which I've tried to keep A5E...
I really like the concept of the exploration challenges and provides a solid role for the exploration pillar. I think the supplies resource makes a lot of sense - a balance of an important new resource to keep track of but not over-complicated by needing to specify each type of supply. And...
@tetrasodium I liked your analysis. But for this bit:
It helps that your Conduit also gives you:
"When you cast a
spell that deals acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison,
or thunder damage, you can change the damage
type to your Conduit’s damage type."
I really like it. Sorcerer is one of my default classes (when I'm not a forever DM) and this is a definite improvement in flavour and mechanics on the 5e sorcerer. It's not as transformative as the A5E fighter or rogue but magic users already get meaningful choices at each level with their...
Hi, I was going to say that might be out of scope for this thread (and I'm trying not to concentrate too much on the possible extension of this to Attack Rolls) but then realised that Attack Roll margins and A5E Combat Maneuvers can do something very similar to what you suggested. The Defensive...
Thanks both, I think degrees of success/failure feels straightforward for Ability Checks since there are less other rules to consider there. The trickier bit comes if expanding out to Saving Throws etc.
I like both your examples @aco175 and the rogues's Evasion is still dramtically more...
