I think the primary reason Wizards did the "World Search" contest, was so they could get thousands of great ideas they themselves can use in the future. There just had to be some bait for people to really submit some great ideas for them.

I think drnuncheon has some very good points. Almost every gamer I have ever met, probably including myself, tend to be know-it-alls and has a hard time letting go of their own voice. Many RP'ers are also very stubborn and slightly arrogant (in my experience).

A quick question: If a familiar is within five feet of its master, and the master cast Cure Light Wounds on himself, could/would the spell affect both caster and familiar, as in the Share Spell ability?

True, but they were nowhere near as important for non-arcane classes, since the spells are much more limited in sheer numbers.
