Mage Slayer and Pierce Magical [X]

Well the only dumb part about them is the part about how "your disdain" is what allows you to dispel or ignore these protections. Bad flavor text, but some good ideas, especially the concealment one. Feats like this probably should get a new classification, or at least be Su. For ex: In the XPH...

Hmm...2 pages of black screen. Can someone not on my ignore list quote the entire thread please? kthxbye

    Elektra trailer

It's not what I was expecting, but it's not like Miller's Elektra wasn't full of Ninja Magic type stuff. However, this feels too much like Crouching Tiger. And yes, Garner is hot (there is more to her than just a forehead y'know). I still would have preferred Eliza Dushku for Elektra but...

Mage Slayer Rules Questions...Not a Rant, Please answer

Where's that (un)official errata from? It changes the feat a bit but I'd be happy with that version

    Firearms in D&D

I suggest the Player's Guide to Arcanis. It has multiple types of Flintlocks, crafting rules, feats for use, and 3 prestige classes all designed to take advantage of them. They walk the line between following some historical limitations and making them playable and attractive weapons when...

Complete Arcane - What's in it!!

Well, Rogue damage as a touch attack, only defensible by SR and not needing any special conditions...yah that would be broken. If I misjudged the level of sarcasm in your post then please ignore :p

Complete Arcane - What's in it!!

Yup good catch. Scorching would get an extra ray at 4d6. However single ray spells like Disintegrate and Enervation are cruel and unusual with this feat. Which is good for disintegrate since it really hasn't been the same since 3.5 :(

Complete Arcane - What's in it!!

Here's an odd bit: Split Ray is now +2 spell levels, but it no longer splits the damage dealt and you can focus both rays on one target. Enervation as a 6th level spell that does 2d4 neg levels, or Scorching Ray as a 4th level spell that does 24d6 at 11th caster level. I haven't checked the new...

Whats the worst you've ever read? Scifi/Fanstasy

Piers Anthony...pretty much all of it cept maybe the first one. When I read them as an impressionable youth I didn't realize just how creepy they were, and not in a good way. Edit: Gurgh, I have to add as proof: Bio of a Space Tyrant, where one of the biggest plot arcs of the series was...

    Sneak Attack and DR

Well here's what I've managed to dig up. I thought there was something stronger though...I guess you could view sneak attack as a special effect like those listed in the damage reduction entry, but I'm not sure that was intended. The only thing I could find that might support this is that sneak...

    Sneak Attack and DR

I could have sworn there was a rule stating that in order to apply sneak attack to a creature with DR that you cannot bypass you need to exceed it's DR with your base weapon damage first? Ex: lvl 1 rogue with 12 STR using a non-magical dagger sneak attacks a creature with DR 5/magic. Unless he...

Arcanis: Gonnes, Sons, and Treasure Runs (COMPLETED)

I've read some of this thread, but not all since I haven't played all the mods yet ;) Nice work on dialogue, and that pic is really nice. It fits the Pistoleer in my group perfectly. Keep it up, hopefully I will be able to read it all someday.

    Improved Whirlwind Attack

The designers think WAY too highly of Whirlwind Attack. This feat is...not very impressive. There are still a few classes that can WW as a standard aren't there?

    So, what's your golf bag?

I'm primarily an RPGA player (not enough time for a home campaign) so... Living Greyhawk: 13th level Fighter/Rogue/EWM/Occult Slayer: Adamantine Spiked Chain, +1 Frost Chain, Cold Iron Chain and a +1 Silver Falchion that I never use or carry anymore. I have oils of bless weapon and some...

    New Rules!!! :)

Arcanis: Bloodline abilities and how they interact (social status) Gods without alignment that can have "good" and "bad" aspects. More of a Crom feel rather than D&D standard. They have actually managed to make flintlocks interesting and worthwhile, though a bow still has advantages.

    Wood Elf

    Monster Manual

    Wood Elf

Well IMO the designers overvalue Strength as an ability mod, so I think that Wood Elves are fine as written. It's the 1/2 orc that is the problem. +2 Str = -2 Con +2 Dex = -2 Int

    Heavy Artillery: Psion vs. Wizard

Nah not broken. 36k feels right. Remember that when you are an augmenter you are more likely to do fewer large manifestations rather than many small ones which limits the savings further. It essentially acts as the +1 caster level Ioun stone form the DMG, better than some ways and worse in others.

    Heavy Artillery: Psion vs. Wizard

A number of people have posted that Psions can be better artillery than sorc/wizards. So what? Just because Arcanists used to be the kings of damage dealing doesn't mean that they had to stay that way. Psionics creates a new paradigm that can change class roles. With a Psion in the party the...

    Tougher than adamantine

FYI, the Hardening spell is also in Magic of Faerun. Not sure if it made it into the Player's Guide or not.
