You could always 'Rule 0' to it to say that a gnome character has to choose either bard OR illusionist as his preferred class.

Questions: How do you determine Threshold levels for Generics? How do you assign "damage dice" for bad vibes? I see 1d6 for some villians and 1d8 for others. Also, do you think you (the designers) could post a transcript of a example Hijinx game session?

How would you handle the conversion of characters from Alternity to d20M (especially stats)? I've got some DM material from the web that I want to use.

Re: Counter Weight Personally, I prefer square/rectangular counters just because they're easier and faster to cut out. I have about six issues worth of Dungeon Mag counters to cut out and the little round ones take forever! Erik, for Star Wars, a variety of character, vehicle and starship...

The inclusion of cardboard D&D monster counters in Dungeon has been great from the start. How about providing us with counters for use with d20 Modern and Star Wars?

Erik, I for one love the idea because 1) I am nostalgiac about old Hanna-Barbera cartoons and 2) my primary RPG audience are my nephews and they still watch those shows!

I would say that the whole "looting" issue depends on the character's background and alignment. There are plenty of instances in fiction where a character takes a fallen companion's equipment: In the the Fellowship of the Ring (strictly speaking, the movie), Isildur takes up his father's sword...

Speaking of which, how young is too young for D&D core books? There's nothing *vile* in the books, but I have to be a concerned parent anyhow. (Like I said, the kid does have the Adventure Game.)

WOTC Stores bother me. They hardly ever have any sales, their salespeople are helpful-to-the-point-of-being-annoying, and they never seem to know anything about the products coming out that month.

As a consumer it all comes down to the bottom line. If my local store (or Borders, BN, Waldenbooks, for that matter) was able to offer the kind of price I can get at Amazon.com or Buy.com (discount + shipping cost), then I would buy the books there. Right now, I've got all three D&D 3.5 core...
