I think you could have both scientific and narrative advice depending on how hard you wanted to go on world-building. E.g. Talk about how island chains form from moving volcanoes, but also talk about the narrative possibilities island chains hold.

This might be more feasible than you think, seeing as there are some great world building video channels like Artifexian on YouTube that go into detail on exactly that. If we can translate his content into some simple guidelines, then most of the work has already been done.

The nice thing is that became of the leak, WotC would be sued by other creators first for trying to deauthorize the OGL rather than it going to court because WotC sued some poor sap, which helps frame what’s at issue in the case.

I don't have a definitive answer, but the chromatic dragons in A5e all have spellcasting variants that don't impact CR (in theory). I would compare your ideas against them as a baseline.

As much as I would have loved a normalized schedule, I'll admit that being able to port in O5e subclasses so easily was a big reason I switched and why I was able to convince my players to switch.

So the AG clearly includes several archetypes that are intended to replace the archetypes from O5e. To give just a few examples: Wizards All 8 subclasses -> Arcanist archetype Druid Circle of Land -> Guardian Circle of the Moon -> Skinchanger Warlock Archfey -> Spellbound Fiend -> Diabolist...

For the record, I was imagining this as the next countermove when they release the “Real” OGL and it inevitably falls short of what’s needed.

#DnDBegone was obviously great for getting attention from WotC, but we also didn’t get what we really need: a public, legally binding statement from WotC that they cannot deauthorize the OGL 1.0a. Unfortunately, we can’t cancel our subscriptions twice, and the movie won’t be out for another few...

So just a hunch, and its your company so do what you want, but I feel like a direct competitor to any WotC products would probably do well these days. Personally, I’m more interested in seeing the culture-oriented books than planes, but on behalf of everyone else, it might be time to revisit...
