    Question for the Old Schoolers

Hey, I only used the term "Old School" because it is more polite than callin' y'all a bunch a Grognards :D. And this isn't about 3e to 4e - I know all the issues there. Dragonlancing the Forgotten Realms was a little extreme. See, I've been trying to track down just what it is that bugs me...

    Question for the Old Schoolers

Would you say something was lost in transition for Forgotten Realms from D&D 2nd Edition to 3rd Edition?

The Dastardly Bard - is this balanced?

    I can see that working.

The Dastardly Bard - is this balanced?

I just posted this in another thread, but I think it is an idea worth exploring further. The Dastardly Bard Archetype (named just off the top of my head) takes the bard class and replace the spells and spell progression with rogue talents, which would be gained every other level like a rogue...

looking for magic less bard class variant

A rogue with ranks in perform or profession: bard would work as an alternative, if you wanted to remove magic (even magical music) altogether. Another quick-and-dirty idea is to take the bard class and replace the spells and spell progression with rogue talents, which would be gained every...

    Artificer Conversion

Is there any reason not to make an Artificer an archetype of the Alchemist?

Ironbound: Chains of Phaetos compilation thread.

Dwarf, Yaksha posted, with optional alternative racial traits for these Hill Dwarves.

    Dwarf, Yaksha

Something for my Phaetos campaign setting, athough it is probably something that won't show up in the first published book. Ghanthis is a different continent than Zantier, where the dwarves are originally from. Dwarf, Yaksha Physical Description: Dwarves have the same physical description as...

    Dwarves moving in full plate

As normal, but they still get the armor penalty to acrobatics and climb.

    Pathfinder 1E First Pathfinder Character

On Rebuilding: Pathfinder, as written, doesn't have many specific rebuilding rules. Oh, a few classes here and there can change a spell at level-up or something, but unlike 4e, Pathfinder encourages DM discression. Typically, the rule of thumb seems to be someone can change something at...

    Armour check penalty for dwarves

Slow and Steady only applied to alleviate speed penalties - as I understand it, all other penalties still apply. Running and moving quickly are not skills, and so would not be affected.

Has any RPG ever done grappling well? At all?

Pathfinder reduces it to a Combat Maneuver roll, which makes it about as intricate as swinging a sword. Simple, yes. Good? It works for my purposes, but milage may vary. Wasn't there a D20 WWE book? Dunno if the system was any good or not.

Wisconsin as a Hunter: The Vigil setting

As someone who's lived (and currently living) in Wisconsin, I'd have to drop a few nice factoid: - Having a town declaired a city pretty much just requires 4 bars and a church. It used to require 6 bars, but we're trying to improve our image. - The UW System has tendrils everywhere. I swear...

    Dukemaker: Q'barra

Adapting Kingmaker to Eberron shouldn't be too hard. As far as adapting Eberron rules to Pathfinder, there have been threads here and on Paizo forums to do just that.

Help me make a dynamic duo!

I'd suggest looking at the AGP's Teamwork feats, as it adds mechanics for working together on different things.

Can the GNU be applied to an RPG system?

If you are starting from scratch, you can actually place anything you make under your own version of the OGL, GNU, Creative Commons, etc.

Converting the 4th edition rage drake to PF.

You could also base it off of one of the dinosaur stat blocks.

    Plot Idea wanted: Family Hunt

I'd suggest researching what happened to the Knights Templar when the King of France went after them.

What does a dragon's voice sound like?

I can see Orson Wells - he did a good job playing a planet eating robot. Antonio Banderas, Dave Chappel (as Rick James, b****!), William Shatner (KHAAAAAN!), Lenard Nemoy (actually, he does a good villain voice)... Ooo...I know, Mark Hamil. Sure, most people know him from his Skywalker days...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Mini Set by WizKids

Looks like a 3D rendered mock-up, but that doesn't mean it is inaccurate - common industrial practice of plastics molding means you have to design the mold in a CAD program first (unless you're making "garage molds"). I can tell it's a 3D render because first, the lighting doesn't quite look...
