D&D 5E (2014) Changes to D&D's Spellcasting Monsters: Streamlining Your Way To Bliss

I thought someone upthread said so. I was trying to confirm if that was true or not. I could have read it wrong.

    D&D monster art styles

Yes, I remember that cover. Dragon artwork was phenomenal back in the day pre-internet when finding quality art was difficult.

D&D 5E (2014) Changes to D&D's Spellcasting Monsters: Streamlining Your Way To Bliss

So.....the Necrotic Bolt from Orcus does NOT count as a spell for the purposes of spell resistance or globe of invulnerability or anything? Isn't that going to cause some fights at the table with peeved players when the DM does this? I don't really care what WotC does anymore, I quit buying...

D&D Movie/TV Rawson Thurber will write and direct the D&D TV Series!

I would love if they took that same concept of the 1980s cartoon and updated it. I would also like to see different styles of cartoons. I posted elsewhere a trailer for Spine of the Night, which uses gritty rotosoping. I would love to see an R rated mature D&D show approach like this.

D&D Movie/TV Rawson Thurber will write and direct the D&D TV Series!

Exactly my thoughts. Dodgeball is without doubt a classic comedy and worth rewatching again and again. Red Notice, while well made, was crap. And not funny. I like Ryan Reynolds ok, but his style of humor, for me at this point, I want him relegated to Deadpool for the rest of his career and...

D&D 5E (2014) [Kobold Press] Tome of Beasts 3 is live on Kickstarter!

Marc, I DO think they're better. Also, for players who are jaded by the old Monster roster of D&D, the Kobold Press line offers hundreds and hundreds of bastards to either kill or run from, and players don't have any idea what they do. My players are still terrified of exploding toads after...

D&D 5E (2014) [Kobold Press] Tome of Beasts 3 is live on Kickstarter!

As someone who has all three Kobold monster books currently, in pdf and on Roll20, I can say I like them better than the core Monster Manuals. The art is top notch, there is a lot of variety in the monster design, and some of them are just plain MEAN. I would say on average the critters are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ravenloft - "The Created" Session Recaps

You definitely are a fan! I have some of the old ring binder Ravenloft monstrous compendiums, and maybe the Domain of Dread book, but I never got a chance to run a campaign there. Never hurts to start late of course. In Created, I haven't decided yet if I'm going to railroad them into being...

    D&D 5E (2014) Ravenloft - "The Created" Session Recaps

I missed the entire Ravenloft bandwagon back in the 80s/90s. I didn't even run I6 until the start of 5e. I'm running Curse of Strahd now (and really liking it) but it still doesn't have the same gothic feel of the original Ravenloft setting.

    D&D 5E (2014) Ravenloft - "The Created" Session Recaps

This is a one-shot I'm running for about a month. It will probably be three or four episodes. I do love how easy it is to adapt old TSR stuff to 5e, and this is a pretty solid little adventure. I really liked reading it and fitting the story into Roll20 visually. The Created - Session #1...

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

I saw this recent film called The Spine of the Night, filmed in rotoscope. It's an R-rated fantasy, and this is what I would want my D&D TV show to look like.

D&D General Your last adventure in photos.

I think I like running games online more than in person after two years of Roll20. I never run out of maps or tokens, and it's a breeze to import new ones.

Critical Role The Legend of Vox Machina: Bawdy, Bloody, and Funny

I watched the first three episodes. I'm probably in the minority, but it's not for me. I did not find it funny, nor was I enamored by the art style, characters or plot. I'm glad it is successful though, even if I'm not a fan.
