Landmarks, historical events, personalities, and other oddities from your city.

Having grown up just outside of New Orleans I have always been stuck by the large above ground graveyards, which are necessary since the city is basically a bowl surrounded by marsh and a lake. With a water table so high anything buried here would not stay down long.

Fun opponents for 11th level characters?

Although I appreciate the concern I really don't think the options present for 11th level are going to prove to be a problem. The group is made up of intelligent and experienced people who have a good deal of gaming experience under their belt. I definitely am going to use the dragon and air...

Fun opponents for 11th level characters?

A friend and I are going visit our old DM and his wife (who is my cousin and a member of our old gaming group) for a week or so. A request was made for me to run a game for the three and the wife's brother as a one shot. I of course am more than happy to oblige, and after talking things over...

5E - How would you structure it?

If I would be involved with 5th ed I would want to make it as modular as possible, so I would steer the product scheme in that direction as well. The first year of books would be a Rules Compendium (which would have no classes but would contain the rules for character creation), a book of...

Simple Systems for a Starter Storyteller?

Savage Worlds, as always, is high up on my recommendation of RPGs to look into. The system is very flexible and very awesome.

    5e what would you do?

I put way too much thought into my response for this thread after reading and pondering everyone's solutions. So much thought that I think I even dreamed about it last night. I think the ideas of separating stats from to hit and siloing bonuses to what you can already do compared with picking...

The new Gamma World - Thoughts/Questions

What does the equipment situation look like? Is there a regular equipment section with firearms and whatnot or is all the tech handled via the artifacts?

    Got my Gamma World!

This times 2. I have a need to run a game inspired by the video for "Knights of Cydonia"

Swordmage Feat Swordbond for a Warden - Thoughts?

Just curious, but if you aren't planning on multiclassing into anything else why not take the feat if you like the flavor of being able to call your sword to you? It isn't like you are required to deviate from your Warden powers.

Turning an Essentials character into a non-Essentials character

Dailies and Utilities can still be picked from any source for the Warpriest, from what I understand. It is only the Encounters that are locked by the Domain choice. If they would want to completely reroll, it shouldn't be too hard to just let them reroll as a thematically similar character...

    Steampunk

I've been a big fan of steampunk for the past 10 years or so, and the first game of 3ed d&d I ever ran was in the genre using the rules out of the deadlands d20 books. Over the years I have fallen in more with the Dieselpunk ascetic, but steam tech always makes me smile. Eberron strikes me as...

Best GAMES AROUND! (NOT D20/4e, White Wolf or Cthulhu)

can I just say 7th Sea and Adventure! about 50 times each? 7th Sea is currently my favorite game of all time for both setting and mechanics, it is a shame that the line was killed with Swashbuckling Adventures dual stated as the final testament. Danger Patrol has certainly piqued my interest...

    Tactical RPG

Savage Worlds! I would recommend Deadlands or Tour of Darkness Savage Settings for something different from D&D fantasy, but really it is all good.

    Any Roll and Keep fans?

After thinking it over during this weekend I have decided that that I am looking at doing first is a unified trait and skill set up that could apply to multiple genre's/time periods. These basic rules will have frameworks that cover basic combat styles, social confrontations, and the like. Then...

    Any Roll and Keep fans?

I think what I am really looking at doing is using R&K to make a modern game of cinematic action. Something that could handle bullet opera, western action, or even something a little more scifi like Snow Crash.

    Any Roll and Keep fans?

I guess that I am coming at R&K from the 7th Sea side of things, so I am thinking of it in terms of dramatic and cinematic action. I can definitely see how having it tied to Rokugan would make it seem odd to use it for other settings, more so than Thea. I have never actually dug too deeply into...

    Any Roll and Keep fans?

Pouring through my old table top links, I came upon an idea I once had about using a mash up of 7th Sea and L5R to make a Roll and Keep Wuxia based game. My player base is no longer there for this idea, but thinking about it again and seeing that a 4th edition of L5R is being released soon has...

The Great Conjunction II (RPG Design Contest)

Have my basic mechanic in mind as well as the setting, just need to work in one of the sub themes. Hopefully life and work will allow me to finish the job this time.

    It's Dark Sun

If the feywilde and the shadowfell are anchored to the prime, then they would get dragged down into the Elemental Chaos as well... which would change them drastically I imagine.
