I usually get a chance to check in during the week. The email notification works great for that too!

DM's - What rolls do you make for your players?

That's exactly why I've been thinking about doing it. Wondering what player's responses have been, especially when you had previously let them make these kinds of checks/saves, to loosing the "control" of their own rolls?

Pirates of Caribbean logic question MAJOR SPOILER

Saw the movie last night. Easily one of the best action/adventure films in many years! As we were walking out of the theater, I said to my wife "I wonder how they're going to do the sequel, as I don't see Depp signing on for sequels." Already looking forward to "Pirates of the Caribbean 2...

DM's - What rolls do you make for your players?

When I DM (either for my campaign or in RPGA events), I let the players make all of their own rolls. I've been toying with the idea of starting to make some of the rolls for the players. For things like certain spot, search, hide, listen, sense motive, etc checks. What rolls do you make for...

A Walk Down Memory Lane - 30 years of Gaming

Andargor, thanks for sharing that. It seems like we are of the same age. I started gaming a bit later than you (I think I was 11 or 12). I played for a few years, then, for some reason, stopped. Looking back, I guess I thought that it was time to move on. Dumb. So, shortly after 3rd...

[NJ, DE, PA and even VA, NY and all points East!] Shorecon [ENworld gathering]

Cool. I'll see you at the Interactive. Do you know what events you are judging yet?

    Help! Looking for words

Don't have my books with me, but I thought there was a table of 100 traits in the DMG

    D&D weekenders | Kore | dead thread

I'm on the boards here just about every day, so a commitment to post on the weekend would not be a problem. If this is your first entre in to pbp DMing, don't get too aggressive on the world development thing. In fact, I like having the world develop around the character's actions as they...

[NJ, DE, PA and even VA, NY and all points East!] Shorecon [ENworld gathering]

This being my first "real" Con, I've never had the opportunity to play non-Living events at an organized event. At the monthly gameday my group used to run, it was only Living Greyhawk and Living Dragonstar. I hadn't really planned on playing in a non-Living event, but make take a slot or...

[RPGA] Green Regent Site Now Up

Page 25 is Appendix 3 "Campaign Card Rules". The next page is a blank page, then follows the character sheets and log sheets.

Being a newbie to play-by-post games, the "weekend" concept sounds good to me. Count me in.

[RPGA] Green Regent Site Now Up

Anyone else having a problem opening up the "Campaign Standard" documentation? I've downloaded the zip file, which contains a PDF. When I try to open the PDF I get an error from Acrobat. Is it just me? [EDIT] Never mind. Using an old version of Acrobat. Fixed.

    Standard 3.5 D&D - Higher Level?

Tailspinner, Could you put me down as an alternate player? I'd love to get in a game if there's room. Thanks.

(DRAGON) 3.5 DM screen = very nice

If you call up Paizo and explain what happened, perhaps they can send you a replacement issue. I think the screen is great. It's a bit lighter weight than the 3e screen, but hey, it's free! And I like the tables that were included.

[NJ, DE, PA and even VA, NY and all points East!] Shorecon [ENworld gathering]

I haven't played in Living Arcanis yet, though many of my gaming group swear by it. If you have any experience with Living Greyhawk, it was described to me as being more deadly, more role-playing intensive and more internally consistent than LG. One of my friends made the comment "If you read...

[NJ, DE, PA and even VA, NY and all points East!] Shorecon [ENworld gathering]

Badges are good. Have to take a look at the event schedule to see when a pick-up game works though. Out of curiosity, who's going to ShoreCon primarily for the RPGA Living Campaigns (Living Greyhawk, Living Arcanis, etc.)?

[NJ, DE, PA and even VA, NY and all points East!] Shorecon [ENworld gathering]

Definitely plan on being there. I don't get to go to the "big" cons and wish I could do one of those large EN World gatherings. I think an EN World gathering at the attached pub would be a great idea. Count me in. Azure Trance, it's not that far. A bunch of us from Long Island are...

Dwarven Forge - Best Place to Buy from?

I've seen Master Maze stuff on eBay at decent prices. Got to be careful on the shipping though. One of the guys in my gaming group bought a bunch of stuff on eBay, wound up saving 30-35% from retail.

    [kinda OT] Famous Gamers

I kind of hope that they don't game. Can you imagine Lars at a table? Seems like he'd be a rules lawyer of the worst kind. Betcha Hetfield would stay in character though......
