Ha! I am invincable, Prove me wrong!

Maybe, not sure. That's how I thought it worked, but I'm not an expert in this area.:D If it does work as you suggest, how come my drow didn't get any extra hit die? None of the +ECL races in FRCS get extra hit die. A Svirfneblin (which has hit dice in the MM right?) starts at 1st level, but...

Ha! I am invincable, Prove me wrong!

He's more annoying than dangerous. At 12th level (only 1 class level), he'll have less than 20 hit points (assuming big con and d10 dice here). He'd be dropping in the first round, only to reappear 2 rounds later with 3 or 4 hit points. If you're playing 20th level pcs, he'll be 8th level...

    Improved Initiative: Balanced?

What is this extra action I keep hearing about? This would only happen in the rare circumstance where YOUR pc is the very last person to strike in combat, ending the battle. Not only that, but this feat only comes into effect if someone rolls within 4 of your roll. Otherwise, the feat didn't...

Will this "attack combo" work (kinda Smack-downish)

Re: Spell resistance? Cold immunity? No to 1, maybe to 2. The sneak attack damage is the same type (cold). If the spell doesn't work (SR), the sneak attack damage was never inflicted. In #2, apply resistance to total damage (including sneak attack). If there is any leftover damage, that...

Will this "attack combo" work (kinda Smack-downish)

As soon as you attack, your foe loses their dex, with regards to YOU only. This is assuming you were successful with QttE. If so, it triggers your extra attack from ET, IF you are within melee range (and you are in this example). However, THIS attack your opponent sees just in time to retain...

    Items?

Sounds fair enough, I was just arguing that the rules don't allow for it. IF there is Sage Advice, I wouldn't have a problem allowing it. At the same time, it does introduce a rather odd mechanic that doesn't logically follow the current crit system. Even though it's not really a critical...

    Items?

Not according to the rules, and no it is not in any errata I have seen. You must crit to be able to use Thundering, and since undead cannot be crit'ed...well, it seems obvious what the answer is to me. Please provide some reference if this is true. I don't see any reason to allow this to work...

    Items?

That's just it, you CAN'T land a crit against undead. Thundering will NEVER come into effect against something that you cannot crit. It doesn't matter if it's sonic damage. Read the description, it says 'when you deliver a critical hit...'. And you will never deliver a crit against undead...

    Would this work?

Re: totally off-topic: about special relativity C'mon guys this is so elementary. Haven't you seen the movie K-Pax? It's all spelled out in there.:D

Weapon Master vs. Exotic Weapon Master

Hate to be the bearer of bad news (well, not really:D), but if he took that level of monk AFTER the level/s of barbarian, then he lost the ability to rage, and would not qualify for EWM. I'm sure he probably DIDN'T do this, but I wanted to point that out just in case.

Weapon Master vs. Exotic Weapon Master

Re: Weapon master, definately weapon master. Yeah, until you are disarmed or have your weapon sundered. A lasher/ewm could disarm you AND take your weapon in the same round. And, if hasted, smack you with your own weapon (at a LOW to hit probability, but embarassingly funny:D). I know this...

Trying to build an archive of responses from The Sage

Re: Re: The Sage does not like it In that case, I'll post the 3 or 4 emails I've gotten from him.

Trying to build an archive of responses from The Sage

The Sage does not like it In one of my emails, I told him that I would post his response to the boards. He told me not to, that when he was ready for everyone to see it, he would print it himself in Sage Advice. I would post it here, but...:D I think it was a question about SKill Mastery...

Feat Question: Quicker than the Eye

But it's not just for attacking. If you are successful, any action you take goes unnoticed. So, you could drink a potion, attempt a grapple, sheath a weapon, pick up an unattended/dropped item in a foe's square...ANYTHING...and NOT provoke an AoO.

    Bolas from S&F

I don't have a big problem allowing an opposed check for the trip attack, but it doesn't make sense to me to allow the defender to use strength. You've already hit them, so they should be required to use dex to avoid the trip. It's how fast you move that other leg out of the way, not how...

    Bolas from S&F

A maroon? I assume you were trying to be witty by mispelling moron? That was me who posted using the bola against giants. Calling someone a moron (if that was your intent) for using the RULES we are given is absurd. Especially when we are in the RULES FORUM. If you think the...

    Bolas from S&F

No it doesn't. Read my last post I think, where I told how the grapple is resolved. There is no reflex save.

    Bolas from S&F

No, the grapple (not entangle, I think they are different) check works like this. The defender (medium sized or smaller only) makes a grapple check with the DC equal to the attack roll from the bola. If grappled successfully, the foe can escape by simply taking a full round action to take the...

    Bolas from S&F

It has 2 (it's called the two-ball bola!), and I think you can only officially enchant an item with separate enhancements like above if it is a double weapon, like a quarterstaff. So, barring a house rule, this won't work.

    Bolas from S&F

Yep, they work great!:D They seem powerful, but you give up stuff in order to trip or grapple. First off, if you DO trip, the rest of your attacks are at -4 for him being prone. 2nd, how many magical bolas are out there? A Returning Bola wouldn't take advantage of the grappling. How many...
