D&D General How thorough do you like your settings?

It depends on what the setting is like in the first place, but if there’s things that I think are cool, then yes, inject it directly into my veins.

D&D General Deities in D&D: Gods as Tulpas versus Gods as Progenitors

Gods as tulpas works in a world we’re tulpic beings are around, but if they’re the only ones it feels too “zero to a hundred” to me.

Dragonlance Free Monstrous Compendium Volume II Includes Dragon Highlord Verminaard

Huh, the tinker gnomes look like what they were trying to do with halflings but significantly less uncanny valley. Definitely yoinking the dream eater.

D&D General List the 3 Coolest Parts of Your Homebrew World

Thank you. It took a while to get these concepts into a for I liked.

D&D General How Weird Do You Like Your D&D

I seem to be more of a fan of weird things treated mundanely than most. A mimic house that all the villagers avoid is one thing, a mimic house that the villagers have entered a symbiotic relationship with is some real “we’re not in Kansas anymore” stuff.

D&D General List the 3 Coolest Parts of Your Homebrew World

@Levistus's_Leviathan offered a poster leave to revive this thread, and the context implied that it wasn’t limited to that poster. My apologies if I assumed wrongly. 1. The Wind of Dreams 2. Undeath 3. The Divine Mystery

D&D General Fun Experiment: Post a cool bit of (mostly) unknown lore from your favorite setting (+)

This straddles the line between lore and theory, but it’s just plain weird how things match up: Strahd is noted as the first vampire. The Sunless Citadel is listed in Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons as a place that echoes across many of the worlds derived from the First, implying that it existed...

    Dragonlance Dragonlance Philosophy thread

As someone outside looking in when it comes to Dragonlance, I want to take a questionably educated guess: So we have the Kingpriest. He wants to make a world of pure good. At first this seems like an awesome idea help by the fact that his philosophy of what that means is derived from a god...

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

I admit that most of the time I pick race completely on a whim. The exception was my Reborn character, who I played like a robot man slowly learning how to have feelings and stuff.

D&D General Do you like LOTS of races/ancestries/whatever? If so, why?

A curated group of “natural” peoples with the rest available as mutants and anomalies.

D&D General where did the gods come from?

Yep, some of my favorite horror stories attest to that.

D&D General where did the gods come from?

Not usually a fan either, but I can see it working if creatures born from people’s minds are a significant element of the setting. If gods are born from belief, then it stands to reason that enough children believing in monsters under their beds would end up creating these bed-lurking entities.

    Two Combat Systems, One Game

Haven’t played them, but Runequest and Mythras have a separate combat system for exorcising spirits.

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

“Now we’ll reveal the true culprit!” Rips Solamic mustache off of all five of Takhisis’ heads “Gasp Tiamat!?”

WotC WotC's Chris Perkins On D&D's Inclusivity Processes Going Forward

Obviously I can’t read FrogReaver’s mind, but I see something that might have been his point. If we want to say racism is objectively bad (which it is!), then we can’t suddenly metamorphose into moral relativists when it comes to determining what is or isn’t racism. Regarding the topic at hand...

Dragonlance Building a Dragonlance character, according to DDB.

How I would play this is that the Kingpriest’s apotheosis was succeeding and he was on the cusp of becoming the god of self-righteousness, who would lead all of Krynn right to Baator under the delusion they were doing Celestia’s work. By the time the Soth idea failed, the Kingpriest was simply...

    What's yer favorite genre?

Another high fantasy fan here. Whatever the h*ck Omori and End Roll are (heavily symbolic psychological horror with heavy “maybe mundane, maybe magical” elements). Whatever the h*ck Angel Beats is (seriously, I have no clue).

Dragonlance Dragonlance: Solamnic Knights & Mages of High Sorcery Preview

A dwarf’s true beard is on the inside, not the outside. Okay, to actually contribute slightly, I cannot get over how crisp that image of the knights is. It’s no wonder Wizards is showing it off all over the place.

Listen, Women who join the Knights of Somalia have mustaches on their souls, which is what really matters.
