Player challenging DM authority and competative

This should be something the group decides. If his behavior is lowering the fun level for everyone then the group will decides. You're the GM not the parent. You should let him play whatever he wants, if the Rogue character or others complain then everyone can deal with him. Your role as GM does...

More Classes Essentialized or more support for current classes?

So you're playing in a 4th edition D&D and a 4th edition AD&D campaign... It seems like we have two version of the game again, but this time we can mix and match too*. *I know there was a certain amount of compatibility across the previous versions, but Ive not heard of mixed class games. I'm...

FREE shipping to the far corners of the planet

I've been buying from them for a while now and they are excellent (UK one). Never had a problem. I'd say Ive bought 20 to 30 books from them.

What are the "Essentials" line Adventure Path adventures?

Without knowing the adventures too well. I'd be careful of having a collectathon without giving out constant rewards. Having the skull constantly be just out or reach would be disheartening, you'd end up with something like the X-Files. Very unsatisfying. I'd have many skulls. The more the...

    Online CB yea or nay?

I think I like it. I've, already, used it more than the other CB, but it's got a long way to go.

    Online Character Builder is LIVE!

I'm testing this in work on an XP virtual machine in ubuntu. Installed sliverlight on chrome. Works at a decent speed - about the same as the character builder - which is on the slow side. It seems smooth, no crashes yet. I've made two characters, a quick dwarvan slayer and a bullywug mage. It...

They could be published after the encounters season is over. Maybe with a few months lag.

D&D 4E 4E Tomb of Horrors Retail Edition vs. 4E Tomb of Horrors DM Rewards Edition

I can only speak for the RPGA mod, but I was impressed. :D Very brutal and looks like loads of fun.

    Replacement for thunderspire Dragon

Hmm I think I'll have another look at the dragon to see what made it tick. I think I'll save a dragon for my climax though - I now have an image of a Duergar riding a dragon around the Seven Pillared Hall causing all sorts of havoc.

    Replacement for thunderspire Dragon

My game last night did not go to plan (best laid plans and all that...). An impromptu B-Day dinner scuppered the long game I had planned. And a little niece - four year old - decided to play Dice and Monsters with us, it mostly involved throwing dice at people. Still the party explored the...

Elder Red Dragon preview is up

I really like it; it is awesomely simple, yet very dangerous and interesting at the same time. <3 the new stat blocks; very easy to read. <3 the dragons powers; they look dangerous and chocked full of story. <3 the new solo design; what solos should have been. As some of the posters mentioned...

    The "That's Unrealistic!" Retort Compendium

Mythbusters might be entertaining, but I wouldn't take any of their science that seriously, it is pretty poor experimental science even in the best of their episodes. I'd laugh if someone tried to use Mythbusters to prove a point.

    Replacement for thunderspire Dragon

I'm running the Well of Demons this weekend and I'm redoing the encounters. The green dragon is pretty meh. Any ideas for a replacement? I'm looking for a level 10 solo. Maybe one that uses the newer format. I am DDI enabled.

Pulling up a rope... with a PC attached

Pulling someone up by a rope is not easy, it is about technique as much as raw strength, even if you could normally lift that persons weight. I'd require strength/endurance checks or that cleric would fall on his chubby ass. The ability to lift the weight would be the requirement to even attempt...
