    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

The only change regarding opportunity attacks in 2024 is that now you can make them against allies as well, leading to some ridiculous interactions.

Not exactly what I said ,is it?

    D&D 5E (2024) I just got a 2024 PHB From Gen Con. AMA!

Do we still have the option to play a game without feats and multiclassing, or is it mandatory now?

    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

I strongly disagree with that. The more DM facing rules and subsystems we have, the less you burden the players with mechanical minutiae. This is a good thing in my opinion. Players should strive to limit themselves to action declaration based on the fiction only. The more mechanics and hard...

    D&D 5E (2024) Rules that annoy you

Reloading a heavy crossbow within six seconds and without the help of a windlass, cranekin or at the very least a goatsfoot lever is beyond ridiculous. Thieve's Fast Hands makes zero sense. Spell focuses and component pouches greatly trivializes the need for spell components to the point where...

    D&D 5E (2024) Another D&D 2024 Monster Preview: The Kuo-Toa!

It seems using people as live experiment subjects is somehow more acceptable than forced labor.

    D&D 5E (2024) Influence Action

When they say "Action" it usually implies that you can do that thing during combat, within a six seconds time window. I always found it absurd to be able to persuade someone's behavior or open a complex lock in such a short time and under pressure, to be honest. That said, I don't see the need...

    D&D 5E (2024) New stealth rules.

It is really bad. Even basic stuff like encumbrance and travel pace seems to be handwaved now. My last hope is that th DMG will have something to say about that.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 2024 Player's Handbook Reviews

Are we really upset about getting spoilers on a game manual now?

    D&D 5E (2014) Create a DC 20 Skill check

Dungeon Master's Guide, page 258: A character can instead attempt to harvest poison from a poisonous creature, such as a snake, wyvern, or carrion crawler. The creature must be incapacitated or dead, and the harvesting requires 1d6 minutes followed by a DC 20 Intelligence (Nature) check...

    D&D General Size matters

No. 3e had Small +1 AC AND Attack, and large -1 AC AND Attack. It went like this from +8 for diminutive creatures up to -8 for colossal creatures.

D&D 5E (2024) Maybe this is a bit late, but let's talk about Rogue's Niche, and What Rogue Should Be.

Not even close. Feats are optional and I've been DMing most of my campaigns without feats since 2014.

    D&D General Boomer/GenX 5e? (+)

Death at zero HP, keep feats optional just like 2014, enforce full encumbrance, gritty realism and slow natural healing. I do all of these in my campaigns, except for "death at zero", which I wish was an official variant rule in the new DMG.

D&D 5E (2024) Deborah Ann Woll and Matt Mercer consulted on the 2024 DMG.

Amazing. It's almost like they are trying really hard to shoo us old grogs away for good.

D&D 5E (2024) Where should optional rules go and why?

Really, I don't see the need for feats in my game at all. Can I have that option, please?

D&D 5E (2024) Where should optional rules go and why?

I really dislike feats. A great deal of them just serve to take away aspects of the gameplay and reduce the importance of action declaration and decision making. See for example, a fighter who takes both Sharpshooter and Crossbow Expert suddenly doesn't have to worry with positioning on the...

D&D 5E (2024) Where should optional rules go and why?

Unless the books specifically spells out only allowing Ability Score Improvement as a valid game mode, players are going to complain and lash out at the DMs for choosing to do so.
