D&D 5E (2014) Witchlight publishes the new official format for player character races.

Flight is a great trait. It is not comparable to the Fly spell. Flight is self only, limited to walking speed, and negated by wearing medium or heavy armor. It is great if you have it, but there is magic and items/mounts to enable the ground-bound races.

D&D General Divine Invasion: A Proposal for an Anti-Colonialist D&D Setting

I don't disagree with your point, just it has no relevance in this thread.

D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Previews

WBtWL looks to be just enough whimsy for me, but I can see it pushing past a lot of people's whimsy threshold. The carnival itself is maybe about as whimsical an event horizon as I can stand. The glory of this adventure is that whimsy is contained in Domain (other than the Carnival) so I can...

D&D General Divine Invasion: A Proposal for an Anti-Colonialist D&D Setting

There is a lot of badwrongfun posts in this thread. The OP posted an example of a campaign world where you play as the colonized instead of the colonizer. D&D is flexible to support lots of different styles of play. You want to earn some sort ENnie karma points for your type of play? Start...

D&D General Divine Invasion: A Proposal for an Anti-Colonialist D&D Setting

The OPs world sounds like it would be fun to play a campaign. I love the concept of divine invasion and the fractious nature of the primordial alliance. I wonder if the tieflings would fare better as Aasimar allies serving the evil deities. The aasimar seem a little monolithic as the heavies of...

D&D 5E (2014) Making a Domain of Delight; Yggdrasil, the conquered tree of the Queen of Air and Darkness

Both planes mirror the Prime, so there are many places where the veil is thin between the realms. There is no reason a powerful archfey couldn't have a Domain of Delight that draws in the Shadowfell as it falls into a depression to blend the two. Or a vassal of the Raven Queen who hoards a tiny...

D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Previews

A 5E faerie is 2 1/2 feet to 3 feet tall. Sure it is not Tinkerbell pixie small but it is not 1e elf size. Gnomes, goblins, and halflings should be more fey-like in my opinion, so having expressly small size faeries is a win for me. Plus, once you hit 5th level you can cast Reduce 1/long rest...

D&D 5E (2014) Crown of Madness not as bad in play as it seems

Crown of Madness is a very thematic spell. It makes the PC (or NPC) caster a puppet master or a font of insanity. The spell is situational but very cool to show the horror of Enchantment.

Yes. Prismeer is divided into Hither, Thither, and Yon; Past, Present, and Future.

D&D 5E (2014) Wild Beyond the Witchlight Previews

The image of the toady hag, Bavlorna, burping out little clones to spy and do her bidding like tiny, evil Ashes in Army of Darkness is hilarious. Plus, Bullywugs! I am so happy.

    D&D 5E (2014) A reptilian world?

I love the idea of a reptilian world, but the thought of just swapping out regular D&D races for scaly analogs is really wasteful of the concept.

D&D General How to design fairies without them looking like tiny humans with bug wings?

I like plant/flower fairies but I am warming to Moth folk for fairies. Disney has some good plant examples, either Fantasia or Alice in Wonderland. Having the fairies dismissing the players as 'Weeds' is always fun. Or moth-y

    D&D 5E (2014) So Much Witchlight Art!

The art is fantastic for this release. Mike Lim's work has been fantastic and I can't wait to see more from him. I loved his Zombie T-rex piece in Tomb of Annihilation, but these character studies of the LJN characters are just awesome.

D&D 5E (2014) Chris Perkins talks more in depth about Wild Beyond the Witchlight

I am excited for Skabatha's Guide to the Domains of Delight in the future. There is a lot to unpack from this info dump with Chris and Todd. I am hopeful that Wild Beyond the Witchlight is as well constructed as Curse of Strahd. The Rules of the Realm will be a neat twist. I look forward to...
