    D&D 5E (2024) What would Olive Ruskettle's class be in 2024?

Olive would have been overjoyed! I always wondered if the Azure Bonds books/module/video game had any influence on their inclusion in the Complete Bard's Handbook. Song of the Saurials (Finder's Trilogy Book 3) art appears very prominently in the first few pages of the CBH, but I never knew if...

    D&D 5E (2024) What would Olive Ruskettle's class be in 2024?

The best part is how intentional the meta joke was. Olive was a wonderful character, but she was literally made to poke fun at the idea that some races couldn't be some classes despite there being no reason for that to be the case. In the end? Halflings can be bards now. Olive won.

    D&D 5E (2024) What would Olive Ruskettle's class be in 2024?

After everything she has been through, she absolutely deserves to get her happy ending and be a Bard. So if you are statting her as what she might be NOW? Absolutely make her a Bard. Let her live the dream. If she came all this way and never managed to actually become a Bard, then I might shed a...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

My father always said it was a bell curve, with young people yelling at older people, and older people yelling at the clouds. :ROFLMAO:

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with current AI being used this way. In fact, a friend of mine does the same thing for his own homebrew setting and has the collated data put on his wiki. I WOULD have an issue if current gen AI generated the text or art of the next Forgotten Realms setting...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Lots of artists are willing to look at an AI image as a guideline and create something similar in their own style. It's a great option taking advantage of both methods!

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

It's a lot faster. It's basically like the Printing Press. And while it's not so good right now, it will get better.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Better variety/flexibility is one of my motivations when I choose to use it. I often create one or two hundred different pictures, sometimes with the same criteria to see alternatives, but often with slightly different criteria as I narrow down what I want out of that art piece. Then I pick the...

    D&D General Dwarves Domesticated Bears!

Dwarves don't need cavalry. They flood the world with lava, while laughing from their fortresses bristling with spikes and cheese.

D&D General Transgender Drow are Canon in Forgotten Realms! Woo!

Yeah. The stories about the grooming/many lovers version of Mystra have been retold in forums so many times it's basically an ancient meme at this point, despite the fact that version of Mystra was only official for 2 years. So I imagine Larian either didn't know much about Midnight and only...

D&D General Transgender Drow are Canon in Forgotten Realms! Woo!

Interestingly, something like that did sort of happen. While he was never especially overt about it most of the time, there seems to have been an intentional and quiet shift away from the more sexual elements of the FR. This can be chalked up to TSR and later WotC just making "sensible"...

D&D General Transgender Drow are Canon in Forgotten Realms! Woo!

The old citations provided by Staffan and Ruin Explorer are what I'm basing my understanding on. It does mean that anything Wizards officially publishes automatically supersedes what Ed writes, so his 'canonicity' is more of a figurehead/honorary thing since they can overrule him. But it IS nice...

D&D General Transgender Drow are Canon in Forgotten Realms! Woo!

It is my understanding that Ed Greenwood's contract stipulates that anything he writes about the Realms is canon. I'm sure the reality is that Ed consults with WotC on anything major involving the Realms, but he is well known for answering all manner of Realms-lore questions in forums.

D&D General Having Fun with AI (Optimized 20th level character vs. a Tarrasque et al)

You definitely need to open the spoilers. The abilities the AI thinks this character has is wild.

22k. The pixie barbarian horde has a cute bear totem, naturally. The pixies gather honey for it! This random encounter happens in the Hundred Acre Woods. :ROFLMAO:

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

You know what? You're absolutely right! It's such a popular rule for B/X tables to import, I forgot it was not actually native to B/X. 26 under the right conditions, but 17 isn't hard if you're getting swarmed by bats for instance.

D&D 5E (2014) What is the Deal with the Twilight Cleric?

I understand most of the fluff for Twilight Cleric. They are the Night Watchman that stands against the horrors of the night. The defender who will valiantly guard the wall until dawn comes. Someone who endures through the worst and makes it to the end. It's a reasonably common mythological...
