    Soldier of Faith Marking

Dalzig goes bad, news at 11! Just kidding. I just didn't think I'd see you change your mind about DC. My take on it is the original. The reason I believe that it works every round, and is intended to do so, is because of the word also. While the target is marked it is under two effects. One...

D&D 4E Handling things like Riding and Craft with 4E Skills.

Yeah, riding in my opinion falls under Nature ( Handle Animal ), and then once you have Mounted Combat, you can apply other skills as needed, as per the feat like Dalzig said.

    Non Lethal Damage?

Reg, the following is what HP represent in D&D 4th Edition Hit points (hp) measure your ability to stand up to punishment, turn deadly strikes into glancing blows, and stay on your feet throughout a battle. Hit points represent more than physical endurance. They represent your character’s...

    Non Lethal Damage?

It's actually very logical if you stop trying to be literal with the word term bloodied. The HP system and healing surge system makes a lot of sense to me in all senses except the healing potion one but I accept it for the sake of the rest of the system working. I do agree that healing potions...

    Alignment discretion WTF?

Henry, people are silly sometimes. Nuff' said.

    Something scary we realized

A natural 20 doesn't do anything for death saving throws though. It's if the result is 20 or higher. So a die roll of 20, with the only modifiers being negative, ends up not helping.

    Basic Ranged Damage Modifier

The players handbook tells you what you need to know about attacks, which ability modifiers to use to hit with an attack, and which ability modifier to use for damage on any given attack. Page 269 is a good place to start, and once you have the basic knowledge of how attacking works, the powers...

    Ok, BAB?

    Ok, BAB?

Appropriate stat modifier + 1/2 level + proficiency + enhancement bonus + feat bonus + power bonus + unnamed bonuses. Those are the typical modifiers you would run across. There are a bunch more, mostly conditional, that could add in.

Level of a Power or Magic Item?

For powers, you already mentioned what it is for. For items, they are used a guidelines as to what to give out to players. Also, item level can figure in to creation of items, and detecting magic. There's probably other ones too, but this is all I could think of off the top of my head.

    Half-elves and +2 CON

Except for the things I pointed out above. If we don't have pics of your underpants I don't know if we can just assume you are telling the truth that they are in good order.

    Armour of Bahamut

I think it fits fine with the Paladin sacrifices himself for another concept that some of his other powers possess. There is definitely a theme there. As for using it on himself, with multiple enemies around him, that would just be a bad call perhaps. If an enemy corners a warlock and the...

    Half-elves and +2 CON

I would consider the " Half elves are sturdier then elves", and the "Ultimately Half elves are survivors, able to adapt to almost any situation" as clues to the fact that they are bodily hearty. A lot of their write up talks about how they move from place to place to make new friends and...

    "You possess a spellbook."

If the party is benefiting from the use of rituals, I can't see the logic of the wizard or cleric alone paying for them. So if the party wizard makes a 2000 gold piece sword for the party fighter, the fighter takes it and the wizard loses 200o gold of his share of the treasure? Riiiiiiiiiight...

    Paladin's Challenge Question

Divine Challenge is the name of the power. Do you mean you didn't apply the second half of the effect of Divine Challenge? Or am I misunderstanding your statement? At any rate the marking and the other half of the challenge ( the damage portion) are linked by the word also. They are all one...

    Paladin's Challenge Question

Mouseferatu hit the nail on the head. I am glad I don't have to get into another 100 post thread about this. It's obvious what's intended for the power. And if you don't ignore the rest of the wording of the power it says straight up what the power does. In addition, the word "also" links both...

    "You possess a spellbook."

I agree that the wizard and cleric should start with the relevant books. I just also happen to think that the rest of the characters should get something near the same value. It doesn't make sense that they get 50 extra gold effectively. A paladin needs plate mail. Scale mail for fighters. So...

Elven Ranger 2 weapon melee Stormwarden character - critique

Aust, those stats don't include the racial bonuses. That's the 22 point buy without him modifying the dex and wisdom. The note mad eit look like he added them in, but he didn't yet.

Elven Ranger 2 weapon melee Stormwarden character - critique

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for critiquing character builds.

    "You possess a spellbook."

I don't quite follow what a class feature has to do with two classes starting with 50 gold extra worth of gear. I'm not saying that the wizard or cleric shouldn't have the ritual book to start, just that other classes should start with something worth 50 gold since that is 50 percent of starting...
