Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

Got our shipping confirmation last night and managed to get the pdf downloaded before the site went down (which is back up now btw). Still going through it. I note that Kytons are no longer devils; in general, a lot of the terms for certain creatures seem to have rolled back to 1e. I can't...

WFRP - THIRD Edition Announced from FFG

Ugh. I don't like the look of that at all. I'll reserve judgment until I can examine the contents of that box but a complete system overhaul would pretty much guarantee my non-purchase.

The temptation to Sig that is almost overwhelming.

Dice Roller, Tray or Other (at the Table)

That is precisely the tray we use, in fact. :)

    Games You Want to Play

Just off the top of my head - Unhallowed Metropolis, D&D 4e, and Unknown Armies as I've a mad on for each but no opportunities locally. And no real time, either unfortunately.

    Fourth/Ghost Tower of Inverness

None so far as I know, but that didn't stop me from transplanting the Ghost Tower to actual Inverness, coating it in the radio production and reskinning it for my Mage game a few years ago. Good times.

    New WotC D&D DMing Survey

Agreed. I suppose I should have been surprised that they didn't lump second and third in with the others as a single choice. Given that they don't want any data that supports the contention that people are playing anything but fourth IMO. Not that, ultimately, it matters - as this means only...

    New WotC D&D DMing Survey

Anyone else think it odd that OD&D and 1st edition AD&D are being lumped together?

Edition Bias and 4e Sales Perception

Where's the option for "Neither know nor care how sales of 4e are going"? Why is this in any way critical or relevant to enjoying the game? Not trying to threadcrap I just really don't understand how the games sales affects ones enjoyment of same. Oh wait, that would be the ticky box marked...

The Actual Interview of the WOTC CEO

Easily the funniest thing I've read in weeks.

Have You Purchased Any Additional 4e Supplements Beyond the First Three Core Books?

Aside from the Core books, just Manual of the Planes which I'm quite happy with. I've looked over (thoroughly) the three H series adventures and didn't really care for them (Pyramid had some nice old school vibes but not enough to warrant me paying for it.) I might pick up Adventurer's Vault...

Love the Game vs. Hate the Greed?

(Assuming this is the question being asked Yes/No. ) I've got what I need out of the RPGs I play. But then, that's been the case for some years now. If a game's ruleset is so obnoxious as to require a new edition, I just don't play it. Pretty simple I think.

What would it take for 4E to win over the old guard? (Forked Thread: Changeover Poll)

Maybe stop trying to win over those still playing 3e? ;) Who needs a fifth edition? I don't. But then I didn't *need* a fourth either. I've got some fourth edition materials - someday when I find people who are interested in playing, I'll do that. But I'm just as fine with the two 3e games I'm...

ENworlder: How long have you been gaming?

28 years. Looking at the respondents so far, the largest bloc would seem to be my fellow grognards. Makes sense, we love to hurl our opinions. :)

What RPG Do You Play Most?

This year - 3.0 and 3.5 almost exclusively. I was playing a 4e Shadowrun game but had to drop out. Last year it was 3.5 and Warhammer. The year before it was 3.5 and oWoD Werewolf. It surprises me actually that I've gotten that much mileage out of 3.5 now that I look at it.

Did Prepainted Minis Get You Into Minis?

This. I think I *stopped* using minis around 1989 or so. (A matter of expense really, well that and largely moving on to things non-D&D.) My dad was into model railroading but my mother was into painting the 75mm heritage napoleonics by the time I got into gaming....so it was doubly...

The three core books and MotP. That's it.

Forked Thread: Difference Between Playing and Not

I'd rather go without than endure a bad game. And this has led to some really bad dry spells (two plus years).
