Just a nitpick - Felix Castor isn't from the Lucifer series. It's completely stand-alone, and an excellent series. M R Carey is easily one of my favorite authors right now.

It just didn't sing to me. I enjoyed it, but...I dunno. I read The Boy on the Bridge immediately thereafter and that dragged me right in, no problems (I bloody well cheered at the end too!) Ditto.

The Stone Sky and The Boy On The Bridge are both set to be delivered tomorrow. I, of course, will be on my way to Connecticut for two days. <sigh>

CJ Cherryh's SF, particularly the Alliance/Union Universe books, are some of my favorites. BUT she can be a hard writer to read. She doesn't do a lot of explanation - you keep up or get out - and her writing style is...I dunno. Very psychological. And nobody ever gets a proper night's sleep in...

Not sure I've read the novella. Where did you find it? These are the books that got me started on NK Jemisin. Personally, the bit with the goddess of hunger and her pure indignation when confronted with the hole of nothing was just pure fun. :)

Finished Wolves Eat Dogs and the next book in the series, Stalin's Ghost. Not sure what I'll read next.

Reading Wolves Eat Dogs, by Martin Cruz Smith. Typically excellent. Also read Strange Country, by Mark Dapin, which is a pretty good collection of humor/travel articles about Australia.

Some of them really struck me, and some were a bit more meh, but I can't actually recall which was which was which without looking at my shelves...which are at my (other/old/ex's) house. I do have The Tower at Stony Wood; In the Forest of Serre; and Winter Rose on my to-be-read shelves right...

You should read the Riddlemaster of Hed trilogy. The Book of Atrix Wolfe is also really enjoyable. I've read a bunch of McKillip in recent years, and they're generally all very good.
