Really? So a bard (spontaneous caster) can't possibly cast cure light wounds spontaneously. It does not follow. The feat does not refer to a specific, named, game mechanic. (Even though it could have done so.) Any character with this feat can use his spellcasting ability to spontaneously cast...

And what can you do like a cleric? The answer is in the same sentence: "use your spellcasting ability to spontaneously cast cure spells (from your class spell list)". That's it. You don't have to be able to prepare spells in order to "spontaneously cast cure spells".

Mage armor is a bad example. The ability will only work with shield or repelling shield (CM) (that I can think of). Still, an abjurant champion5/argent savant 2 [CArc, +2 AC from force +AC effects] gets a total of +19 AC [4+5+2, +6+2]from shield and greater mage armor (SC). That's not bad. :)...

You need more facts, like which book the feat is in, that it has been errataed, the post-errata wording and the example of a similar effect in the CW errata. What makes you think the answer some random guy from Custserv gives after skimming through the feat (if he can find it) is the "intent"...
