    What Happens When Demons Die?

Just my 2 coppers... I'm not sure if there is any current "official" rules, but I remember in the old days, demons (and devils), could only be truly destroyed on their home plane. If slain on the Prime Material, they could not come back for a year and a day. If killed on their home plane, they...

World's Largest Dungeon, Is it fun?

The first level has a lot of empty rooms. And I do mean empty. Not even any carvings on the walls. And the monsters are very repetative. For $100? Geez. You could have taken the Fiendish thing a long way, and made it a lot of fun. Fiendish elves, anyone? :]

    Sharn: How is it?

Well, there's your first revelation to come. Sharn is built on top of thousands of years of cities. There is no impossibly high level lich creating a maze for characters to slay monsters and gain treasure, that sells t-shirts to give to your friends who stayed at home. :p There is, however...

World's Largest Dungeon, Is it fun?

I tried DMing it; the first level bored me to tears. So I gave it to one of my players who is a DM, and he began running it. As a player, it's ok, especially since he is spicing up the 1st level a little bit. After the 2nd or 3rd fiendish darkmantle, you start to yawn. I understand wanting to...

    Sharn: How is it?

So, if a city has a necropolis, it is invalid? Man, Egypt is in trouble...

    Sharn: How is it?

And Waterdeep is just Lankhmar with a different name... ;) Each city has wonders and horrors that differentiate it from all others.

    Sharn: How is it?

I seriously doubt it. But, for those of us playing in Eberron (why aren't you? ;-), then it is fantastic. Just like the main book, there is potential adventure on every page.

They made it! They really made it!

Unfortunately, I think someone will pick it up and go, "Damn, this is complicated. I'd never be able to do this." It's much, much easier to learn by doing when it comes to an RPG.

They made it! They really made it!

I think this book has the potential of scaring off more players than it attracts, especially given the high page count. I always tell potential players that I could spend 3 hours explaining the rules, or they could play for 1/2 hour and know everything they need to know...

    Need Apocalypsi (yes, plural)

    1. Wipe the memories of everyone on a planet. Let them know how to talk, know the fact that they must eat, etc., but no one knows who they are, or how to use magic, technology, etc. Real confusion. 2. Destroy all standing water. 3. Increase gravity 10 fold. 4. Decrease gravity 10 fold. 5...

    Building a Lost Dwarven Kingdom

Look for a copy of the old Middle-Earth Role-Playing module Mines of Moria. It has a cool random map generator, along with a lot of cool ideas.

[Eberron] Has anyone come up with a "what the characters know" document?

Has anyone come up with sort of a "What the characters know" document about the world of Eberron? Because of communications and the availability of the written word, especially in Sharn, the characters would know quite a few things.

Most Unusual or Outrageous Character or NPC Names

Ok. A long time ago, on an Air Force base far, far away, lived a fledgling D&D player named George. I finally talked George into creating a Dwarf character, because I thought he would enjoy it. After he was done creating the character, I said, "Now, George, your character names so far have not...

How do you feel when the DM rules that you lose all of your items?

That's a toughie, especially in D&D, which, good or bad, items are usually important. My only imput is, in a campaign I played in long ago, the DM took our stuff away just temporarily during a battle, and we freaked out pretty bad. But in an even earlier campaign, we found ourselves in an...

Complete Arcane - What's in it!!

So far I like 2 things from CA: 1. The Warlock - Still not sure if this is balanced as a PC class, but, man, what a good villian! 2. The enormous number of spells. Lots of gems there.

    Sharn Art Gallery

The maps in the book are quite good - for what they show, which is just districts and how they are layed out in relationship to each other. But Sharn is so *big* and complex, it would be hard to have consistant landscape paintings showing the skyline. Sharn seems to rival some sections of...

Is this a case of GM bias, if so, what to do?

If it were me, I'd run, not walk, to the exit. I GM my wife all the time. She definitely does NOT get ANY special treatment. In fact, she's often the lowest power character, by choice. When we play, they're the players, I'm the GM, and that's the end of it. Sounds like you got quite a bad...
