My satisfaction comes from happy players. I also don't rely on published adventures, preferring instead to run adventures tailored more to that party, whatever their composition. I also don't concern myself with what percentage of the Monster Manual might not work with a certain party...

inb4 someone else gets to twist Evenglare's words before me. Aside from the obvious that Evenglare is a bad DM who should cater to his players' needs, I will say that, like so many similar threads, this one also looks to become one of player's rights vs. DM's rights. That said, I agree 100%...

I prefer to let the situation dictate whether fellow party-members can aid, pile on or neither. When any of the above is possible, I let the players decide, provided they can explain their actions in a way that makes sense.

First off, I'm going to echo that it is human nature. The women's rights movement didn't change human nature, it raised awareness and gained enough allies to grant them the rights they deserve... ...YET...human nature (as depraved and wrong as it can be) still has the world filled with enough...

Seeing as neither of us have done comprehensive studies to prove this one way or the other, I'm going to assume the neither of us can convince the other. I will say that I can point to no fewer than 50 people at my prior three jobs who have had RPGs explained to them in a very favorable light...

As surprising as it is for me every time it happens, I will admit to running across many people who just don't have an interest. They have their hobbies, they like their hobbies, they have no interest (aside from humoring me in some cases) of getting into my hobby.

I think that you can reference the rape imagery without discussing rape.

I would also add that changing just one player in the group could drastically change how the other players act. Especially if you replace one dominating personality with another.

I haven't read the module (my DM asked us not to), so specifics of the playtest are not known. If the case is as you say, then I'll definitely soften my stance (I might have someone drawn and quartered, but it will be a decision made in a softer stance). ;)
