The boxed set comes with very nice poster maps. And tokens, player handouts . . . and if you are introducing new players to the game, well, that's the whole point of this boxed set.

Kind of. Keep on the Borderlands was bundled with one of the iterations of the D&D Basic Set. The next boxed set in the series, the D&D Expert Set, came bundled with the Isle of Dread. But the expectation was that groups would play other modules in the "B" series before moving on to the Expert Set.
