    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Ridiculous Dumb Idea Armorer Artificer with the Tavern Brawler feat. Hang a hundred gauntlets from your armor. Turn them all into Thunder Gauntlets. Throw them at people! Name yourself Cottus, Briareus, or Gyges.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

That's completely fair. Certain DM styles, such as having more or less short rests, can make a huge difference on how a class performs. Artificer is excellent for fast swaps on a relatively short timeline, making them good in low downtime campaigns. Flexibility is one of their strengths...

Does your party not get those things?

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

No, the word different doesn't appear in my book or DNDBeyond.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Yes. Creating items is something everyone can do, provided your DM allows magic items in the first place, and you pass the necessary skill checks. Artificer certainly gets props for being able to create a Bag of Holding at 2nd Level, though. That's pretty impressive.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

I... Hrrm... I certainly don't see anything that prevents you from taking the same item multiple times. It explicitly says you can take that Replicate Magic Item multiple times, and there is no restriction against being able to pick the same item. I've never run it that way at my table, but I...

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Yes to all those things? I mean, it would be a summoned monster or familiar instead of a drone, but yes.

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

I fancy an Armorer without legs who switches between a Combat Wheelchair and his Power Armor as needed. I love the concept, but then I would be playing an Armorer. :(

    D&D 5E (2014) Does the Artificer Suck?

Artificers are strong enough to contribute meaningfully to any group. But Alchemist and Armorer are trap choices.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Humorously, the few games where the PC's do reach Level 20 usually have them achieve it in a handful of years in game. That's clearly a Doylist thing, but it's fun to imagine those Level 20 folk with a bunch of time suddenly on their hands.

D&D 5E (2014) What House Rules Can You NOT Live Without?

There's a fun compromise where everyone rolls a set of stats, and then everyone can choose which set of stats to use. Even if multiple people chose the same set of stats.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hags - Something doesn't add up.

It's a sliding scale. Everyone has a different opinion on how many things should have rules vs GM fiat. Entire RPG systems have been based on having more crunch or less crunch.

    D&D 5E (2014) Hags - Something doesn't add up.

Monsters have more abilities than their statblock. Hags are a prime example.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Wizard vs the World

Hypnos Magen can cast Suggestion at will, Solars can use their 30 CHA to make impassioned speeches, etc. I'm not suggesting a brainwashed world, because I'm sure the Solars wouldn't support such a plan in the first place. But it does make for an amazing PR campaign that continues to run...

D&D 5E (2014) What House Rules Can You NOT Live Without?

Hilariously, I feel bad if I roll HIGHER than someone else. If we all randomly roll and I've got the best stats at the table, it actually makes me have a bad game experience and feel really guilty. :P

    D&D General Testing some riddles

The distinction between poison and venom is not something many players will remember (though some will). More importantly, it's probably not terminology that would be frequently used in a fantasy setting (mostly just academics or medics). Side note: Someone above posted Hook as the answer. That...

D&D 5E (2014) What House Rules Can You NOT Live Without?

Everyone starts with a Feat at 1st Level. There is no Variant Human. It's been embraced by my entire friend group, and half the DM's I am close with. Feats are just... fun.
