Has anyone had the opportunity to use Monte's champion class? I like the overall flavor of the class because it allows for customization and it does away with the extremely roleplay restrictive alignment and behavior requirements of the Paladin. It also has a built in GMW ability which helps...

Maybe the Complete Warrior will have one.......but i really doubt it would have something so obvious and useful.

Bleh. I really dont like this. Seems redundant to any other class. I hope D&D 4E focuses more on the feat idea. Giving all classes more feats would allow them to twink and customize their characters as they see fit. Add a few racial feats and all of these class advancement things are taken...

Just a feat IMCW. Simple concept and fair to all dual wielders not just those who favor a singular weapon. I am thinking about lowering the TWF, ITWF, and GTWF dex requirements to 13,15, and 17 too. 19 is ridiculously too high.

I use a feat that reduces the TWF penalties by 2. So you can reduce your penalites to -0, -0 or go with 2 mediums and fight at -2, -2. To do anything else would be to give a fighter specializing in a single medium weapon to big of an advantage.

I definitely agree with that. I liked dual wielding also util WOTC decided to add that asinine incrementing DEX requirment to Improved and Greater two weapon fighting. I guess a game that is "All about options" means only Rangers and Rogues are supposed to be able to wield two weapons...

Seems like everybody here thinks a feat for the bastard sword is a waste. Then what should be done to the weapon. Better crit range, non-exotic, or maybe free for fighters?

I love a fighter who uses a bastard sword. Nothing seems more weapon mastery to me than a warrior wielding a bastard sword two handed. I pick up the exotic feat as well but primarily go two handed. Use a breast plate and go for G. Specialization and WW. Also, I love the Great Hammer 1d12 x3...

I wonder what Gatts swords from Berserk would quailfy as (other than BS). Its at least 7 feet long and a good foot wide. Also, I too have held a real bastard sword and it isnt a bashing weapon. It was actually very nimble.

Lets see: Vampires who have energy drain slams. The alignment system. Why so absolute? The very blah slot based magic system. 15 thousands elf types. Lack of an class based AC bonus.

This would be more useful if DMs actually posted their favorite pet NPCs complete with backstory. At least that can be folded into a campaign. The DMG already has bland base npcs.

I like the idea of bringing back the old gods only to find out they are even worse than Izrador. Now that is dark.

Just out of curiosity. What do you mean by "kiboshed it badly"? How bad could it have been?

Actually i think the best build would be Paladin 2/Sorc 8/Ek 10. Sorc isnt going to miss the feats you would lose as a wizard plus you get the Pals bonus to saves.

Giant Scorpions make nice minions. A Manticore or enslaved Crynosphinx too(whichever the evil one is). Wyverns are a tried and true minion as well. Maybe a couple of half-dragon wyverns would do the trick.
