D&D General Has Tiny Hut actually affected your game? Or has it otherwise mattered?

You really have 3 options. Make using the spell worse. Make it better. Or make it equal. Now if you proposed some way to telegraph when it would be better or worse or equal I could get behind that as a meaningful decision point for the players, but when your only reaction is -‘make it worse...

D&D General Has Tiny Hut actually affected your game? Or has it otherwise mattered?

Apparently you have created leomunds diversion hut. Likely an even stronger spell than tiny hut ever was.

    1. For the dual crossbow build it's 1d6+dex. You cannot miss connecting with precision over half the time with this damage output and still outdamage the normal damage maneuvers. 2. Due to your high accuracy from vex's advantage I don't expect that you'll miss often enough to use precision...

D&D 5E (2024) Changes to the Command spell and its use at the table.

I'm 110% positive that your experience isn't representative of most modern D&D games. If you expect magic won't be able to be easily defended then your game will make rulings and focus on those aspects of the game where magic is harder to defend. Not to mention any potential house rules or...

Read the spell. It takes their action.

Piercer feat I did some math on piercer feat. Not every case, but should be enough to get an idea. The chart details a 2 attack PC and what outcome on the first d4, d6, etc that they choose to reroll. The highlighted value is the optimal decision. As you can see it's fairly close to using...

Unearthed Arcana WOTC still can't get the backgrounds right in the new FR book.

I mean… that’s a problem no matter how backgrounds are implemented, unless you make them have no mechanical impact, which I’ve been a proponent for, but I always got a lot of pushback with that idea.

Then why did you say this in response? Makes no sense.

This is why I asked about champion right after talking about Battlemaster. Because you explicitly brought it up in the same post AFTER asking about Battlemaster manuevers. Goodness gracious.

But you specifically asked about it on a champion build in that very post…?

One other cool thing. With a hand crossbow you can also use a nick thrown weapon in place of your bonus action hand crossbow attack. Any time you bonus action move hunters mark this could be an option.

Ambush for the initiative bonus, especially if you have alert. Menacing for the fear I can see arguments for Pushing, Trip, Precision and Maneuvering. Specifically for a group with a cleric which I think you mentioned I would do Maneuvering Maneuvering - allowing allies to move off turn, like...

D&D General Has Tiny Hut actually affected your game? Or has it otherwise mattered?

Mostly yea. 1. Case: LTH Doesn't matter If they party didn't need to rest then LTH doesn't come into it. 2. Case: LTH always matters If the party did need to rest then continuing on wasn't a good plan anyways. (LTH is of universal benefit here. You are much better having it than not in...

@CptMetal Have you considered a battlemaster using your dual hand crossbows? Eventually take a dip into Ranger for Hunters Mark? Menacing attack option gives you some nice control options. By the time you factor in vex, action surge and superiority die damage you'll have good ranged DPR...

D&D 5E (2024) Changes to the Command spell and its use at the table.

I don't disagree, but if only command is axed then it's next man up and the next man up is still pretty dang good, better in some ways, worse in others.

This mindset explains a whole whole lot. I'm sure it bleeds over into other aspects of the game as well. Kind of a self fulfilling prophecy IMO.
