D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Players Handbook reveal: "New Crafting Rules"

This was more a tease and not actual rules (but I can't wait for the cavalcade of how broken or useless these rules are), but in principal, this is a good addition to 5e.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook preview: "New Spells"

But he also said that while playing BG3, which matches my experience. The challenge is the game makes it a two step process. Step 1: Ignite the orb/ cast the spell Step 2: Attack with it And it is annoying, you have to click on the spell, confirm the casting, click on the Throw fire icon...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Ranger"

First ... bold claim to call this 1/2 the fan base. Second, I know a lot of people like calling Jeremy Crawford a lying liar who lies, but I do remember him saying that until the second pass at the Monk got rave reviews, the Ranger was leading for "best improved class" in playtests. I dunno...

    D&D 5E (2024) How you going to roll... 5.24 into your game(s)?

I don't have an active 5e campaign, tbh I have been holding off starting one until the revised books come out. Planning to just make the change, use older material as necessary, but just change over

D&D 5E (2024) What happened to proficiency bonus times per day?

I bombed out of PF2 long before that, but I will say that I do believe you need more than one approach. 4e, prior to PH3, you only had feat-based multiclassing and it wasn't great except for that desire to just dip a toe into another class. But also having Hybrid classes allowed more...

D&D 5E (2024) What happened to proficiency bonus times per day?

A la carte multiclassing like 3rd and 5th editions, I will definitely agree. I preferred 4e style, with either Hybrid classes or Multiclassing via feats.

    D&D 5E (2024) Ranger 2024 is a bigger joke than Ranger 2014:

Heh. Next you'll think it's unhinged to post a thread today about how useless the 2024 Monk is.

D&D 5E (2024) WotC has called the new ruleset 5.2. Why don't we?

Add "Dungeons and Dragons" From XKCD

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Video Schedule: July 1st-12th!

These are three classes I'm most interested in ... and the Cleric.

I get it, but the wait for those last four classes ...

    D&D 5E (2024) Could we get a Bloomburrow (Redwall) setting for 5.24?

Ask me again after Bloomburrow comes out. Right now, I don't know enough about the world to know if I'd want to have a campaign there. That said, yes, in principle, I would be down for an anthropomorphized small animal DnD campaign setting.

D&D 5E (2024) Which Setting Featured Already in 5E Do You Want a New Supplement For?

Eberron is definitely my first choice. But afterwards ... Radiant Citadel comes to mind. It's new, barely skimmed over and has promise for interesting ideas.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Rogue"

I heard Rouge was being superseded with the Fuschia.

Dragon Age 4 - now The Veilguard

It's supposedly a nickname that we have, as our background/lineage choices will define our last name and then we can have characters we are ... getting close to can use a name instead of a title.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

Same. And tbh, I thought the last UA was actually a solid version ... assuming they also rewrite more spells to actually be legal options for Twin Spell.

D&D 5E (2024) The New DMG Gives DMs Campaign Log Sheets

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #2: "New Fighter"

I like popcorn initiative: at the end of turn, the player chooses who goes next, like passing around a bowl of popcorn. It allows the party to set up combos and makes the combat more fluid.

I was also trying to find Sasserine. Savage Tide has long been an adventure I've wanted to run.
