D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

Ah you said general books. A lot of 3E FR books are specific with their themes. I own a lot of them. 3E had a lot of flaws. The quality of the FR books wasn't one of them. I've started digging into earlier FR product for comparison.

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

People wouldnt accept a 6R yet. 5.5 is a cheeseburger with extra onions. I'm expecting them to sell less. Could be wrong. Eventually people will want a steak and egg burger (or whatever) but not a pizza or cheeseburger flavored pizza (they exist btw). Other problem is D&D beyond...

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

If people want to buy oatmeal sell them oatmeal. Its the old cheeseburger thing. I want a cheese burger."how about a nice pizza" "Cheeseburger" "I'll put pineapple on the pizza" "Cheeseburger" How about this steak "Cheeseburger " "I'll put peppercorn sauce on the steak" "F sake give me a...

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

Wasn't so much that. WotC is constrained by the reality of making a commercial product. D&D tropes matter to D&D fans. Probably 4E crowd weaponized moderators and built themselves a bubble that popped the hard way 2012. People like what they like. WotC essentially had to ebuimd the game...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

Karlachs not the most attractive in terms of conventional but she's nice. Like a big puppy. People thirsting after her start at big muscle momma and it goes downhill from there. Most of them are victims to some extent. If they were honest and on dating apps you would swipe left on all of...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

They're probably the most popular. Shadowhearts the conventionally attractive one, karlachs the conventionally nice one and Asterions the edgy naughty word. Laezels probably next and the rest popularity drop off a cliff after that. They also get a lot of the best lines in the game bantering with...

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

Ive mentioned SR and MR more tgan once. And I was the one who pointed out greater magic resistance earlier. I quite like the mechanic. Its only on one creature. I'm happy to nukes control spells into the ground tbh. Fine on mooks, bosses not so much.

Bad saves were only one edition. Tradition and nostalgia you would have good saves.

3 saves and no weak saves or the difference is 1-4 points vs 11. Designing more spells isnt the solution when simple fix is eliminate bad saves.

I suspect most editons end around then. I suspect 3.5 big issues were mostly theory craft. The cure was worse than the problem.
