    Pulp Sword & Sorcery?

Thundarr the Barbarian, many Japanese cartoons and movies, etc., "steampunk", etc. would probably be modern representations then.

    Pulp Sword & Sorcery?

That's the usual reaction. :heh: Good point. Moorcock, Vance, etc. are usually grouped with S&S and their stories (the Melnibone series, Dying Earth, etc.) are definitely not what'd I call low magic. Yah. Today's common usage definition, though, evokes over-the-top action ala Indiana Jones, etc.

    Pulp Sword & Sorcery?

I'm trying to come up with a succinct way to describe my fantasy campaign setting, which is a low-magic desert world where the inhabitants battle the environment with psionics and divine magic. The latest term I've come up with is "pulp sword & sorcery". But didn't S&S come out of the pulp...

Anyone currently using the Generic Classes option from Unearthed Arcana in their game? If so, what's the result?

How come no one's publishing the old Corebooks?

DnD 4th edition is governed by the GSL as opposed to the OGL. No one except Wizard can publish 4th rules in virtually any capacity. A 3PP, for example, writing a 4e module could not put the stats of a monster in said product or even reference it by page number.

How come no one's publishing the old Corebooks?

That's interesting what you said about the OSR retro-clones. Do you really think retro-systems like LL, OSRIC, S&W, etc., are pulling away 3.x gamers?

How come no one's publishing the old Corebooks?

Uh, the SRD is OSC. Wizard, from my understanding of the OGL, could not do anything to such copies as long as it contains no WotC IP. That's how Mongoose and other publishers were able to so.

How come no one's publishing the old Corebooks?

A lot of D&D 3.x DMs and players bemoaned the fact that Paizo published a backwards-compatible Pathfinder Roleplaying ruleset instead of packaging WotC's SRD similar to what Mongoose and other, smaller press, did in the past. Thus, I'm a bit surprised no publisher has stepped up to do just. Any...

Will gaming companies ever go 100% digital?

    Like Warhammer 4th edition?

Will gaming companies ever go 100% digital?

To answer succinctly, no. There will be plenty of folks who want print copies and don't want to wait for their POD edition: they want it NOW and are willing to pay for it. There's a joke among artists that traditionally painting was doomed with the invention of the camera. Well, it's been...

    Haunts Here you go.

    Ultimate Faith & Ultimate Social

If "Social" you mean by skills, then no. I'll have to find the post (Paizo's site is down at the time of this posting ), but one of the staff stated that it wouldn't make sense for such a supp since skills are found on every PC (or something to that effect.)

WHy do druids and clerics get special treatment?

The issue was probably brought up in the open playtesting as well. I assumed clerics and druids maintained full-casting for backwards compatibility.

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

I like it. Distinctly different from Paizo's approach with Pathfinder but not the radical shift like True20 or FantasyCraft. And nope: not involved with Badaxe except as a fanboi of their products. (HEART Grim Tales).

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder and the ENnies

I think Lisa's way too smart and grounded to let that happen. Also, there's always the specter of TSR hanging not too far in the background. Thought that was rude from the audience. I would have given him a frosty silence.
