D&D Movie/TV D&D: Honor Among Thieves Superbowl Spot

Bold move. I wonder what the crossover rate between sportsball and D&D is these days.

Coming LEGO Rivendell Set for The Lord of the Rings

That's amazing. Too rich for me though. Painting GW minis and assembling a Rivendell terrain piece would be cheaper!

D&D 5E (2024) RPG Evolution: What is the Reach of an 800 lb. Gorilla?

So, I'm thinking that since a normal male gorilla weighs about 400 lb, stands about 2m high and has an armspan of 2.6m, and a reach of 1.3m, and 800lb gorilla would be 2x the weight, and volume scales with cube root of weight, so 1.25x the height and arm span, or 3.27m arm span, and net reach...

    The Ministry of Silly Exercise

It is impossible to do a Bretzel stretch and not feel silly.

Experiences growing up a fan of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Roleplaying games, etc.

Got into F &SF & RPGs during the Satanic Panic, when playing D&D (or anything other than traditional sportsball) made you an instant outcast at school. I am so glad the geeks inherited the earth as was foretold.

It is time to forgive WOTC and get back onboard.

Forgive? Not yet, but eventually. Forget? Absolutely not.

WotC Backs Down: Original OGL To Be Left Untouched; Whole 5E Rules Released as Creative Commons

Hopefully permanently. Though WotC has burned so much goodwill I'm not certain whether to celebrate yet. How do we know we can trust them?

OGL 1.2 survey is now live

I'm making it clear my red line. BLUF: DO NOT DEAUTHORIZE THE OGL1.0(a).

WotC Unveils Draft of New Open Gaming License

Huh. Improving. But I'm thinking I don't like it because they are trying to put toothpaste back in the tube: taking formerly open content and trying to make it closed. I think that's a no-go.

D&D 5E (2024) How much would you spend on monthly subscriptions for dnd?

If I can just buy the books by themselves, I don't need a subscription.

I think they got what they wanted

And in that moment the RPG smiths heard the words and knew they had been deceived ... OneD&D to rule them all OneD&D to fight them OneD&D to bring them all And in the darkness bind them. In the land of WotC where the shadows lie.

OGL Controversy -- EN World action? (proposal)

Given the current OGL controversy and the need to pressure WotC to back down and endorse OGL1.0(a)'s continued existence, I wondered if the powers that be here at EN World (i.e., Morrus) would be open to a modest proposal. To whit: Take down (or at least mask) the "Upcoming D&D" sidebar and all...

D&D 5E (2024) How much would you spend on monthly subscriptions for dnd?

So there's a monthly physical product coming with a monthly subscription?

D&D 5E (2024) How much would you spend on monthly subscriptions for dnd?

Not a damn cent without a physical product. If Dungeon & Dragon were republished in paper I'd subscribe again. Otherwise, I buy products I feel I will use but I will not subscribe to something transient.

Cancelling MTG accounts as the next move

I can do that. This is war. War is a battle of wills. Our will has to be stronger than theirs for as long as it takes for them to surrender. (To be honest -- I can't hurt WotC much myself as they were the only company I bought D&D content from! Though no D&D movie or Baldur's Gate 3 for me now.)
