    Warhammer 40k cinematic universe confirmed.

Eisenhorn? I'm down for Eisenhorn. Or something Rogue Trader-ish. If this just tries to glorify Space Marines to sell plastic I'm out.

Re-reading the Hobbit, it almost feels like a distinct setting from LotR's Middle-Earth

Well, I'm still here at EN World, so yeah pretty much.

How's it going? Just checking in!

I know the feeling. I've drifted from RPG playing (still pick up books too read) just due to time. Doing more tabletop wargaming & mini painting, so I guess I've drifted to D&D's roots ... lends itself better to episodic availability.

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

I favor "People" (as in : "The Free Peoples of Central Earth"). But not on the poll, so would take Ancestry or Heritage. Or, you know, Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling classes. Though you have to rename the last two since they define themselves in relation to humans, which is specist.

Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen & Warriors of Krynn Review

Thanks, great review. Moves the book from "hard no" to "maybe on sale" and board game from "maybe yes" to "no" for me!

D&D 5E (2024) One D&D Permanently Removes The Term 'Race'

Removal of race: good. Species? Meh. Give me ancestry or heritage -- or even "people"; species causes me to ask questions about interbreeding and biology and I really dno't want to deal with that in my fantasy game. Of course, now we need to deal with specist terms like dwarf or halfling ...

D&D General what is the worst race in dnd?

Man, so many choices! Kender, tinker gnomes, gully dwarves, that weird monkey race from Spelljammer, can't forget nilbogs ... I do think Krynn wins the race to the bottom, though.

    Cocktails

Minus a good margarita (not doing a Mexican-themed Thanksgiving this year), I guess I'd go for a basic Dr. Daniels ... Jack Daniels and Dr. Pepper.

Happy Turkey Day, US peeps! How are you combining the holiday with gaming?

So what's your Thanksgiving/gaming crossover? Is there an adventure that's ideal for a turkey-day one shot, like Ravenloft is for Halloween? Maybe Dragonlance ... dragons are just big turkeys, right? Canadian Thanksgiving POVs welcome!

Dragonlance WotC Officially Confirms Takhisis and Tiamat Are The Same

This was even a question? I must have been living under a rock since 1985 ... always assumed they were the same critter by different names. Like Lolth and Lloth.

Hot take: Only the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings should be viewed as canonical Middle-Earth books

Yeah, the BBC radio plays are great. The Andy Serkis audiobook reading is also exceptional (how can that man do so many voices and accents, and keep them consistent?). It has one downside to me. He sings ever one of Tom Bombadil's lines of dialog. Sings. Tom Bombadil is a prat at the best of...

Hot take: Only the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings should be viewed as canonical Middle-Earth books

Yeah, I 100% agree. Tolkien was picky, and if he never thought his work was worthy of publication, just because his son slapped some drafts together into a "book" doesn't mean that's what the Professor would have wanted. So I look at the Silmarillion and other later collected material as what...

Vecna's still looking for his head; I'm sure that will eventually be addressed in a future adventure.
