The physical quality of the books from looking at them at the FLGS is pretty high. From the gorgeous end papers to the binding and even the paper.

He based it in bookscan don’t ya know!

Book scan used to include Amazon because they were sold as books, not anymore. Bookscan also lost most of the numbers that changed distribution from third parties to Hasbro. You can’t rely on recent bookscan numbers after Hasbro took over major distribution to big outlets.

I think we can. The later bookscan date came after hasbro took over distribution and didn’t match what stores were selling. H*ck it didn’t even come close to a regions sales. That data isn’t useful.

Without the anniversary I’m not sure WotC would have pulled the trigger in a new revision. It certainly seemed to drive the schedule, even if it was partially missed.

Who says other than WotC? And the fan base? Also I’ve explained why I think it’s best D&D stay the same and why it should, outside of my personal preferences. I’m just asking for the same courtesy. Edit to add: I am playing other games. Maybe I’m mistaken but it seems you take the suggestion...

Aren’t the AD&D features all about classes and elf dwarf stuff? Outside class aren’t The rules of the game the same as B/X? That’s the big thing for me. Edit to add I’m also it that big of an adherent to complete b/x compatibility. It’s nice, but really I just want to be able to run old school...

Thinking about it, I don't want another version of D&D. If I run it again I'll go with 2014 without feats and level 1-3 like a long extended funnel with backup characters.
