What TTRPGs Excel At Not Having Combat?

The Baron Munchausen game isn’t a traditional RPG, more like a drinking game, sort of. But I def love it and it’s fantastic for this sort of thing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Extraordinary_Adventures_of_Baron_Munchausen

D&D General Initial Thoughts on the Two 2025 Forgotten Realms books

The physical quality of the books from looking at them at the FLGS is pretty high. From the gorgeous end papers to the binding and even the paper.

D&D General The Revival of D&D with Jeremy Crawford at Comic Con.

The Revival of D&D with Jeremy Crawford at Comic Con in Spain. This is also about Jeremy and his journey with D&D and his part in the creation of D&D. He notes that it’s the first version that, unlike prior versions, sales kept growing and growing and they often wondered what was going on. He...

2024 D&D Core Rulebooks Off to "Strongest-Ever" Start for D&D Books

Book scan used to include Amazon because they were sold as books, not anymore. Bookscan also lost most of the numbers that changed distribution from third parties to Hasbro. You can’t rely on recent bookscan numbers after Hasbro took over major distribution to big outlets.

D&D 5E (2024) If D&D 2024 Had Been Radically Different, Would You Have Stuck With 5E

I think we can. The later bookscan date came after hasbro took over distribution and didn’t match what stores were selling. H*ck it didn’t even come close to a regions sales. That data isn’t useful.

D&D 5E (2024) If D&D 2024 Had Been Radically Different, Would You Have Stuck With 5E

Without the anniversary I’m not sure WotC would have pulled the trigger in a new revision. It certainly seemed to drive the schedule, even if it was partially missed.

D&D General Ben Riggs interviews Fred Hicks and Cam Banks, then shares WotC sales data.

Who says other than WotC? And the fan base? Also I’ve explained why I think it’s best D&D stay the same and why it should, outside of my personal preferences. I’m just asking for the same courtesy. Edit to add: I am playing other games. Maybe I’m mistaken but it seems you take the suggestion...

For me this is great. This is what I would want for any additions.

OSR New edition of OSE in 2026 (updated with some links)

Aren’t the AD&D features all about classes and elf dwarf stuff? Outside class aren’t The rules of the game the same as B/X? That’s the big thing for me. Edit to add I’m also it that big of an adherent to complete b/x compatibility. It’s nice, but really I just want to be able to run old school...

D&D General Ben Riggs interviews Fred Hicks and Cam Banks, then shares WotC sales data.

@Reynard i think you just want a different game. Cool. I don’t under stand why it needs the D&D label for you?

D&D 5E (2024) If D&D 2024 Had Been Radically Different, Would You Have Stuck With 5E

Thinking about it, I don't want another version of D&D. If I run it again I'll go with 2014 without feats and level 1-3 like a long extended funnel with backup characters.

D&D 5E (2024) If D&D 2024 Had Been Radically Different, Would You Have Stuck With 5E

It would have to be more like Shadowdark or Mork Borg for me. Eventually I'd check it out, maybe. I dunno. It's an interesting question. Partly cause you left open what kind of game. I don't imagine they'd go in that direction, but if they did? Maybe. Edit to add I did buy the core books. Even...
