Many players do not know the difference between a retcon, and the world just moving on and the state of the world changing. A retcon is "Spider-Man never lost Gwen Stacy." The timeline moving on is "Spider-Man was dating Gwen and then she died."

I'm honestly a huge fan of almost all of these lore developments and how the world is changing. My hat is off to the whole team, they've done the Realms proud in the story department.

Trust me, the internet is barely representative of real fantasy enjoying communities out there. People in the real world love mature fantasy. Modern viewers are much, much smarter than people give them credit for.

More than likely they're working on new Dragonlance gaming materials and exploring what form an adaption of the Chronicles would take. But we will see gaming stuff well before any adaptation, I wager. Also, everyone is assuming it will be a TV or Movie adaptation, but I propose that a video game...
