I did quick searches with regards to both Vance and 60s Dr. Strange and everything seems to have fun names, but no levels.

It has been a very long time since I fiddled with kabbalah but I vaguely remmeber it having something like "levels."

They all assume slightly different balance rules with regards to CRs and encounter building, but not so much that it would be worrying. I totally advocate people building their characters with whichever compatible system they like.

The only flaw might be meta rules, like Inspiration vs Heroic Inspiration vs Luck.

For folks who have used both extensively: when do you prefer to use minions versus hordes? And for supervillains' mooks, which do you think makes more sense?

These are clearly the spells prepared by the NPC. Again, it seems folks are really trying very hard to give themselves something to wring their hands over.

I am not sure where people are getting the idea that NPCs don't have spell slots. The ones in my 2024 MM do.

Unlike other activities where conversations happen, TTRPGS are a conversation, by there very nature. They are inherently more intimate based on that alone.
