    IRON DM 2025 Tournament Thread

Honestly, I'd forgotten I'd already used it before. I try to remove used ingredients from my list from year to year, but I honestly must have just skipped over it when going through older tournaments. No, if we had ever done anything intentional with that ingredient in particular it would have...

    D&D 5E (2024) Rank 5e skills from most useful (1) to least useful (18)

Every thing you're talking about here is exactly what I'm saying. It's (a) anecdotal and (b) entirely self-fulfilling. Optimizers go out into the wild and tell stories about how GMs never call for these skills (never mind that skill usage is entirely on the players, if you want your GM to call...

    D&D 5E (2024) Rank 5e skills from most useful (1) to least useful (18)

Yeah, a lot of this, especially the quote-unquote "low tier" skills are mostly a self-fulfilling prophecy. CharOpers decide which skills aren't exploitable which means fewer players take those skills which means fewer DMs generate circumstances for those skills to shine which means fewer players...

    D&D 5E (2024) Rank 5e skills from most useful (1) to least useful (18)

I mean, under ideal circumstances, the rankings would be: 1: Perception 2-Tie: Everything else Perception is too baked in as the superior skill in the system to unthrone, but everything else is extremely DM/campaign-dependent, and again, ideally that involves working into the game...

So, for those of you who are new, a quick breakdown of how judging will work from this point forward. Each judge will be posting their judgment individually and independently. We will not be reading each other's judgements as we do so. Each judge will be able to offer one vote towards...

    NUREMBERG Official Trailer (2025)

It's a great thing, then, that this is a historical film. As we've all found out about the world we live in, nobody ever learns from history. So we should be pretty safe.

    D&D General What's your view on a pirate-driven campaign?

If'n ye be amenable to video games fer yer entertainment purposes, ye could do quite a load worse than givin' Uncharted Waters: New Horizons a gander. Twas a Super Nintendo game set in the groups age of exploration, where ye could choose t' engage in discovery, trade, and a even wee bit o...

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

It was a truly great show. Well... except for the gas leak year. We don't talk about the gas leak year. I appreciate that you are coming from a good place. I just hope that you consider that I am speaking not of a place of imagined fear, but of experience, and leave it at that.

D&D General Nolzur creates inclusive miniatures, people can't handle it.

I want you to know that I mean absolutely no offense when I say this, but this is unbelievably naive. At the very least when we're talking about the internet, no, at least 90% of the time it is malice, it's just not usually not so obvious as it was here. Your problem is framing this as...

This, on the other hand, is not it. Not to say that straight calling a person a loser is a worthwhile endeavor, but it's especially difficult to "try to see people with whom you disagree as human beings" when the root of our disagreement comes from them not seeing me as a human being.
