Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I’d definitely prefer that, but I am not ruling out that WotC says ‘use one of these two’, why else even have them as subclasses in the UA?

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

haven’t watched them. I was more thinking along the lines of Pixar animation for something to watch ;)

D&D General Explain 5(.5)e to me

depending on how wide the net you want to cast is, you could also look at adjacent games like 13th Age (probably not for you…), Shadow of the Weird Wizard / Demon Lord, Vagabond, or Shadowdark (ordered from least to most OSR-ish). They might work better for you than the 5e variants

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

FR are not really a homebrew setting I'd rather have a good live action show, probably not gonna bother with an animated show

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

not impossible, I still think the subclasses had issues however, esp. the preserver

D&D General Explain 5(.5)e to me

that depends on how you played back then, we already did not like / tried to avoid character death in the early 80s when we started playing, and not just on the player side. I think the high lethality dungeon crawls were more a short period in the 70s and the game gradually drifted away from...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

yeah, I meant if sales numbers were identical, ultimately this will be decided by how many copies they sell

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

are there worse deals to be had, sure, doesn’t mean it is a good deal though, esp. compared to its direct ‘competition’. Ultimately everyone will assign their own value to this (however you determine that without buying it first), some will buy it, some might not. Nothing much left to say on...

their margins on the DLC are probably better than on the big FR books…

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

DDB makes tons of money off its subscriptions, they are not subsidizing it with the DLC. Another difference is the number of sales, the additional sales more than make up for WotC’s higher salaries. Pretty sure the Kobolds do not make 40% profit

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

probably the Krynn where Raistlin had defeated all the gods and was left with a wasteland in return. Doesn’t quite line up either, but no other version comes anywhere as close

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

no, they are not, doesn’t change the fact that they charge way more than the others for this (or that I consider it overpriced because of that) I am not arguing that they cannot charge it, I am arguing against those that claim this is a good price because a print version would cost $25

it’s only available on DDB, which makes the bargain bin a bit harder

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

they still make a profit doing so however. Which is my point, the $15 WotC charges for 32 digital pages is way overpriced. They do so because they can afford to, not because it is an accurate reflection of their cost which is what I was saying, I am not the one claiming that this is a good...

Forgotten Realms: Astarion's Book of Hungers - First Impressions

not all that much, if Kobold Press can sell 32 digital pages for $5 and 64 for $10, then WotC can easily do so too. Given their volume they would still make a killing
