Yes. I saw it more as a Trek movie. Here's this mysterious man with an unusual power over people. Twist; it's Spock's brother. Of course God had no need for a starship, but the journey getting to the revelation was entertaining. It's not my favorite but I enjoyed it.

And a good example of what I don't want in a Trek movie. I know I'm in the minority about it. IV is my least liked Trek. The comedy and that it took place on Earth.
