Official Trailer | Star Trek: Khan

I listened to the first episode.

Hmmm. I'm not sure. It was... fine, I guess. But a little boring. But I'll carry on listening when the next episode comes out next week.

Nice to hear George Takei as Captain Sulu (not much more than a cameo, but even so).

The actor who plays Khan is fine. Obviously he doesn't sound exactly like Montalban. But he's believable (though I don't think the accents match, at least to my ear!)

Don't worry about it eventually your ear will adjust to Kahn.

I liked it well enough. Still didn't answer the issue with Reliant not figuring out the planets, but I liked fleshing out the other Augments and Naveen Andrews made a good Khan. Marla McGivers got some needed characterization to better understand "Space Seed". This didn't blow me away, but it was an enjoyable listen.

It’s just that… nothing happened. They end where they started (albeit now on a desert planet not a lush one). I suppose the revelation that Khan has a daughter out there is a thing that happened, but it’s not a very interesting thing.

The whole “magic aliens show up then build a ship which they don’t use and disappear again” thing was just… pointless. They just may as well have not been there.

I dunno. I guess nothing could happen without changing canon. But that makes it a weird choice of story to tell.
