I'm a big megadungeon fan these days. Arden Vul is amazing and ridiculously big. Stonehell is minimalist presentation but very good. And the minimalism means it's cheap. I do suggest adding more connections to level 6 from 4 & 5. Barrowmaze is a sweet spot in between, good art, nicely...

IME Monks are fine, I don't give them any extra powers or stats.

I wouldn't let one player roll while making the rest use point buy. Some games the players roll, some they use point buy. Monks certainly favour/benefit from high rolls more than most classes.

I like the 5 minute 'catch your breath' SR best.

I think I gave my Slaine RPG book away years ago, sorry! I've been adding Skull Swords in my 5e D&D game, as I recall I use MM Thug stats as the base. I bought the Warlord Games Skull Sword minis & a friend has been painting them.

General Veers seemed competent to me. He had a job and he did it! We are not shown many operational details, but a successful ground assault without air cover is usually not easy. Pity the navy as usual failed to interdict properly.
