Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Shouldn't that be Patron Sorcerer-King. Saying Sorcerer-King Patron as a background makes it sound like you are Dregoth's patron.

I did! Do you have a link to it? I didn't see it when I went back and looked recenty.

D&D 5E (2024) Faerunian Backgrounds, what would you like to see?

What is the current list? I don't have access, so it's hard for me to say what else I'd like to be there. :)

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

My son is in that last category. Yesterday I picked him up from school and he was talking to me about prismatic something or others from a game. I said prismatic? And he responded yes, that's the colors of the rainbow. Then he proceeded to tell me every color in the rainbow. After he...

He seems very much like an Eldritch Knight to me.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

I'm not positive, but it didn't make the cut. I also saw a LOT of negative commentary about it. More than those who liked the change. That doesn't mean a whole lot, though. I hate it. It's lipstick on a pig. You color the outside as a "half-whatever," but it's entirely one race or the other...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Yep, and if it were the thaumaturgy cantrip, it would say so. It's not. That magic can mimic something non-magical doesn't make the non-magical thing magical. I can dig a hole with Move Earth. That doesn't make digging a hole with a shovel the Move Earth spell. That doesn't really change...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on New Bladesinger?

Not so much. Drop dex to 16 and my AC still would have been 18 at 1st level, 22 with shield. Still really, really hard to hit. +5 to hit for 1d8+3 is likewise still really good. A few points in bonuses don't mean a whole heck of a lot in 5e. Actual feats will have much more effect on the...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

A few things. First, the fact that skin color, eye color, etc. are influenced by the divine spark unambiguously means that the spark makes biological changes to the Aasimar. Second, D&D allows cross-breeding(not sure what better word to use) between pretty much all of the races, so an Aasimar...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on New Bladesinger?

That depends on if the DM allows you to buy magic items and if so, how they are determined to be for sale.

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on New Bladesinger?

That depends on how you define good. I made a Bladesinger that I determined would be a high elf before rolling stats. I ended up after racial bonuses with a 17 int and a 20 dex. With Bladesong and a rapier, I was swinging at +7 to hit for 1d8+5 damage, and I had an AC of 20 with my studded...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

It literally says it affects biology. Me, too. I much preferred low-light vision from 3e for Elves, but that was sacrificed on the alter of simplicity. Gnomes are an underground race, or at the very least the ones that live underground and Deep Gnomes should have it. I agree with you that...

Booming blade lasts for the entire round. It would still be on when you Action Surge.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

That's not true. Otherwise the PC would also have all of the characteristics of a human. The spark is in the soul, but the spark affects the characteristics as well. Darkvision is a physical characteristic. Resistance to damage is a physical characteristic. Age is a physical characteristic...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Until/unless they write up the Unther/Tymanther/Thay/Mulhorand region(s), you're not likely to see anything like that. That wasn't what I was specifically referring to, though. What I was talking about would be that Thay and Tymanther would receiver write-ups covering the country, groups in...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

I think you are probably correct if looking at ancestral ties. Dragonborn in the Realms are tied to a country that has not been written up as a location in 5e, and there's not a ton online, either. The DM would have to do some work to make those ties, buuuuuuut, it's also not likely to come up...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Perhaps for a half-celestial, but Aasimar just have some blood passed down for generations. It's too diluted to overcome biology. Not that I necessarily agree that even a half-celestial would overcome the biology, but at least that would be direct and strong enough that I could see that as a...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

It depends on your goal. If you want an accurate representation of a blending, you'd need mechanics beyond what is in the PHB for Aasimar. If you don't care about accuracy, then coating an Aasimar with dwarven paint or elven paint will work.
