Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Delayed Until December

The free "we're sorry for the delay" adventure is now available on DDB as well. It's called "Fated Flight of the Recluse" and is for 3rd-level PCs. Looks like an adventure involving an airship.

    D&D General Red Wavy Lines

I've not been involved with the actual Adventurers' League myself, but I have played and run many of the DDAL modules (including all of Season 1) privately. There are some real gems in the collection, but the lack of basic editing / proofreading is noticeable even with those. They only cost a...

Eberron: Forge of the Artificer Delayed Until December

Have just had a quick look through on DDB. Bouncing off the art and graphic design pretty hard, so I'm hoping the actual content is good. All those black-and-white illustrations and chapter headings might look good in the physical book, but they don't look good on DDB. I also don't like some of...

    D&D General Red Wavy Lines

It's an Adventurers' League module. This kind of discrepancy is par for the course. Are you color-blind by any chance? The wavy lines look pinkish-red to me, while the numbers are closer to orange.

D&D 5E (2024) So the Armorer still need be Wearing before Don his armor.

Yeah, this. Specifically later Iron Man suits that expand/contract. I think you could make the case that you're still "wearing" the armor even when it's doffed - as in, it's still on your person somewhere, even if it's all shrunk down into a tight little package. LOL. I did that once ... in the...

    D&D General Red Wavy Lines

I mean, this is an Adventurers' League module we're talking about here. Shoestring budget. Smell of an oily rag. That sort of thing.

What are you reading in 2025?

Honestly, I’d pick Songbirds and Snakes over The Phantom Menace any day. Lucy Gray is an interesting character, and Sunrise on the Reaping more or less confirms that she’s Katniss’ relative, which adds a whole new dimension to why Snow hates her so much. Sunrise on the Reaping is a quick read...

What are you reading in 2025?

Just started reading Sunshine on the Reaping. Pretty good so far. I don’t remember the others being in the present tense, but I like it well enough here. Looking forward to the upcoming film, too.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Was he talking about prismatic shards in Stardew Valley, by any chance?

    General video game discussion

I mean, I don't generally play online games ... unless it's with friends. But that's pretty rarely. I prefer single player.

    General video game discussion

I don't play online with strangers. I'm all good, though. I was just playing Medal of Honor before getting back into SDV.

D&D 5E (2024) Orc lore in the new Forgotten Realms books?

That’s cool. I recently reread the Dragonlance Chronicles, and there are a number of times where a character wonders if someone else has a bit of elven blood in them.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Oh man, I nearly died laughing reading that!

    General video game discussion

I can't remember who suggested it, but someone suggested I try Call of Duty: WWII. It's currently on sale on Steam for 67% off. I snapped it up for NZ$36 instead of NZ$108! Will give it a spin over the weekend. (Currently on a Stardew Valley binge.)

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

That's part of it. A person arguing in bad faith is set in their opinions, they want to "win" the argument no matter what, and they're not going to let any pesky facts or logic get in their way. They may also use under-handed tactics to "win".

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

Unfortunately for me, that DM decided he preferred using XP. He also insists on always starting at 1st level because "that's where the fun is". I left the group mid-year and haven't looked back. In fact, the longer I've gone without being a player, the more I've slipped into forever DM mode. I...

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

As a player, I prefer milestones over XP. I'm a power gamer by nature, and I find that when the DM uses XP, it's almost like a drug. I just want more so I can keep leveling up. Milestones, however, are more story-based. They make it so leveling happens when you achieve a goal in-game. I find...

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

Yeah, the fact that this thread is mostly an argument about prices and not about the DLC content says a lot about the latter.

New Star Trek Movie Coming From D&D Movie Creators

That could be interesting, especially since they were only introduced into TNG and DS9 to set up Voyager, but then Voyager dropped the whole thing almost immediately. So the Maquis kind of popped up a few times in DS9 after that but mostly got ignored until they were completely wiped out by the...

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

I wonder if this is another Elemental Evil Player's Companion ... i.e. the salvageable remnants of something originally intended to be much larger and more comprehensive.
