D&D General My Review of the Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle (major spoiler alert)

Yeah, only the rich and powerful got tombs. It’s not surprising that some of the many poor people decided some wealth redistribution was in order.

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

This is actually, completely untrue. The last couple of years WotC has published 1 Sword Coast adventure and about 9 set elsewhere.

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

We don’t know that past civilisations weren’t more advanced than what we have now. The more advanced the technology, the more effectively people (who may not be human) can wipe themselves out.

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

Murder cultist is easy enough to refluff to suit different settings. Blood of Vol in Eberron for example.

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

I have plenty of faith in the ability of humanity to cope with different settings and homebrew their own without getting confused.

D&D General My Review of the Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle (major spoiler alert)

It was in ancient Egypt too, extremely painfully. As well societal and religious taboos. But most tombs where still robbed within a generation of them being used. If people didn’t commit the crime you wouldn’t need laws and punishments.

    D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

WotC are no more immune to political and economic uncertainty than the rest of us.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

If it’s something the character would know, then the DM might warn you in session zero, but it’s no big deal, you can always change your spells on a rest and even spontaneous casters can change spells easily. And it’s not a setting issue it’s an adventure issue. Remember Ranger favoured enemy in...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Sure, the “official setting” is homebrew (same as 1st edition). People can buy a pre-made setting, but why reinvent the wheel? Unless you can come up with something massively original and innovative the last thing the world needs is yet another GenericFantasyland. And Stryxhaven? That would...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

And this is utterly nonsense that you are making up out of thin air. There is absolutely nothing in any 5.5 content to support this ridiculous statement. Indeed, the opposite is true - 5.5 is heavily asymmetric. I.e no one apart from the PCs has a class at all.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

By that argument, playing a Dragonborn is compulsory, and the minimum party size is ten, since the only way Dragonborn are going to be visible at all times is if there is one in the party. And it’s not just species, your town needs at least one representative of every subclass and every...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

It doesn’t matter if there are no Dragonborn in town. If your are thinking about playing one it makes no difference, adventurers are typically strangers anyway, they aren’t from that town.

D&D 5E (2024) 1501DR Legacy Of Netheril and Purple Dragon Knights: Kingmaker

I had a PC paladin (oath of the crown) who was a PDK in the first 5e campaign I ran.

D&D General My Review of the Forgotten Realms Ultimate Bundle (major spoiler alert)

It’s really not. Those curses, false burial chambers and tombs in hidden valleys weren’t intended as foresighted deterrents for modern archaeologists.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

What nonsense. You should learn something about statistics and population distribution before making pronouncements.

D&D General The Story of Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

    Guillemo del Toro murdered it.

D&D General I want a video game done in the Dalelands

Someone did that in NWN, but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

There is a law reason. Law of statistics - random distribution.

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

Which is the problem - I hate Golarion. It's a pastiche of the Forgotten Realms with all the interesting rough edges filed off, is incredibly expensive to keep up to date with, and tries to cram a multiverse-worth of different themes onto one planet, so it's not unusual to see androids fighting...

D&D General I want a video game done in the Dalelands

Hillsborough is in Sheffield, not in the Yorkshire Dales, though it is nearby.
