    The boys season 3 spoilers

While the herogasm party was pretty wild (poor MM) what really took me off guard was when A-Train dragged Blue Hawk down the road at super speed to kill him. That was intense.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

This has been my argument against Section 31 since the beginning. No matter how "realistic" some may think it is for the organization to exist it really does fly in the face of everything we are supposed to believe about the Federation.

    If you had a robot…

I probably would be polite, certainly more than I am with my Google Home smart speakers. Since we tend to anthropomorphize things I would probably, without thinking about it, be at least a little polite. I would even be more likely to if it were programmed to respond to politeness.

Out with the old (Game design traditions we should let go)

It may not establish any value to you, but value is relative. Justin Beiber (or the Kardashians) has value to his legions of fans and those in his orbit who profit from his music regardless of your opinion of his music or him as a person. I can't stand Justin Beiber as a musician or a person...

Out with the old (Game design traditions we should let go)

I don't play D&D anymore but considering that it's the most popular system by far out there it obviously appeals to a lot of people.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

Ok, then if Starfleet isn't the military then what is? So far all conflicts that we have seen have been with Starfleet acting as the Federation's military and not some other force. Starfleet may well be primarily an exploratory force but it also obviously fulfils the role of the military as...

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

I really enjoyed episode 8. Anson Mount was hysterical, I was literally in tears from laughter because of him a few times. Christina Chong was almost as good. I didn't see the ending coming, I really thought M'Benga's daughters' story would culminate in him finding a cure after a long search or...

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

It's pretty obvious you're right. It may not be a strictly military organization since it's primary goal is exploration but it certainly does fulfil the role of a military when needed, which seems to be often. If it didn't then the Federation would have been steamrolled long ago by aggressive...

Out with the old (Game design traditions we should let go)

Because some of us would find that boring. I change the games I play not just because I want a different setting or genre but because playing the same ruleset becomes stale after a while. Also, not every ruleset is created equal. Some are designed to encourage roleplaying, some tactical combat...

Out with the old (Game design traditions we should let go)

I would say there aren't really many, if any, that are screaming to go away. Don't like the D&D (or whatever game) mechanics or traditions? Fine, there are many, many other games out there so go broaden your horizons a bit and leave the existing game and it's mechanics for those who enjoy it.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

I don't know, tons of other actors did it in earlier series.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

This has been a huge surprise for me about the show. Hemmer really only appeared in two episodes I think, maybe three. On the upside, Hemmer is one of the few characters I don't care for (the other is Ortegas) so him being AWOL most of the time is fine with me.

    Obi-Wan Kenobi (spoilers)

This seems to be failing across the franchise. I just chalk it up to the heavy fantasy nature of the franchise and assume there is some odd in-universe reason, like the existence of the Force caused people to not develop those skills for some yadda-yadda... reasons.

Star Trek Strange New Worlds, what did you think?

The twist with the councilor was pretty obvious but that's ok, the episode was tons of fun. I'm really enjoying that T'Pring and Spock's relationship is being explored in the show. And Jess Bush is amazing, the way Chapel looked at Spock when the kiss was over made me believe she was heads over...

    Generally Discouraged (In-Person Gaming)

@Retreater You mentioned you were married; do you have kids? When I was a Boy Scout I was able to convince my scoutmaster to let us play D&D. Maybe indoctrinating the local scouts into gaming is an option? Mold those young brains..... Having typed that it now sounds like a lot of effort.

    Generally Discouraged (In-Person Gaming)

Finding an in person group can be challenging these days. When I moved 12 years ago I didn't want to stop playing with my friends so I bought Fantasy Grounds and we have been playing that way ever since. I eventually found other people at work in my new city who played and ended up in a couple...

Do You Play Other Table Top Games?

I have my Sunday RPG group. I rotate with another player as GM but my campaigns tend to run longer. I primarily run Savage Worlds but change it up with other stuff (will be trying Blades in the Dark for my next one) and the other GM runs Pathfinder 1E. I also have a Thursday board game group...

D&D General How do you schedule your D&D sessions?

A set schedule. My RPG group meets every Sunday and my board game group every Thursday, I usually just send a text early in the day to make sure everyone can make it.
