Modiphius Reveals New Art for New Vegas-Themed Fallout RPG Expansion (Exclusive)

Ohhhhhhhhh that is interesting! I knew Gonzales left Guerilla (he lead-wrote HZD - including creating the setting etc. - and some of the sequel), but I didn't realize he was back. I see he says he's not working on FO:NV2, but that's kind of a given because it would require Bethesda to not be...

I mean, I don't think there's particularly "adolescent" about either author (who are very different too), and I think that might speak a little more to your attitudes re: sex/sexuality in literary works than what's actually written in the books themselves (I'd be fascinated to know what books...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

For sure, but they tend to do so in a different way, and it doesn't get as much purchase. The dedicated D&D-hater community isn't generally hugely interested in individual releases it seems.

Modiphius Reveals New Art for New Vegas-Themed Fallout RPG Expansion (Exclusive)

At the current rate I'm not convinced we'll have TES6 by 2035 lol. FO4 was definitely on the way to being a looter shooter already (it had literally randomized magic guns from Diablo 2-style random rares with random affixes, as well as the component-based randomization on other guns), so yeah...

I tend to feel the same way but here's the problem. Several books that did not seem very promising for like over half their length turned into some of the best I've ever read. In fact my personal favourite book, Imajica, I think if you had a 50-page rule an awful lot of people would drop just...

D&D 5E (2024) What books would you like to see (in 2026 and beyond)?

If we're wishing for the impossible, I'd love to see an incredibly thorough 5E take on Taladas, which was very true to the setting of the original, but with modern art and mechanics. They could even re-use the Purple Dragon Knight subclass as a the Dragon Knights of Taladas! I would buy it.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I mean, it's an official WotC D&D book. An awful lot of people will defend whatever they do, no matter how bad. So far we've no bottom limit to what will be defended in an official WotC D&D book (but see later in the next paragraph!). We've seen that at great length. The very worst, weakest...

He can definitely override them but his explanation in a previous episode and seeing how much they move without his input suggests most of the time he isn't.

That is true, I did say: So if he did do that, well SMDH as they say, because that + the robot being the cameraman and doing the hard work means he was essentially just a dumbass who hung around the Enterprise for a few weeks asking really stupid questions and then decided to put his name on a...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I mean, call me Mystic Meg, call me Postradamus (or even "More like Postra-dumbass!!!" when I get it very wrong), but I think we can guess pretty much how they screw it up if they screw it up, if we're really real about it. It's not easy though. The main barrier here is that there are so many...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

It doesn't make sense that they'd be tadpoles though lol nor that Elder Brains would exist, nor a million other things. There's this extremely lame tendency in fantasy and some sci-fi to make it so literally every race "were human" at some point in the past/future, and this is always supposed...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

IIRC just that they're natural half-dwarves and slavemasters target them because they're so strong and have such great endurance, which like, is superficially similar but fundamentally different to "created by slavers, for slavers". I expect any 5E version to cut the slavery angle, which...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

I mean, it's just about the most implausible possible backstory given their lifecycle so I don't think that's worth considering lol.

I kind of liked it at the time on a certain level but I feel like Ryan Reynold's schtick is making it retroactively worse every day!

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

Oh sure but we got dozens of different angles and to actually get the footage he did would have meant watching an enormous amount and correctly editing it. I am being Watsonian here of course. Editing (especially editing down from huge amounts of footage) is damn hard work that takes real focus...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

Even as a hardline tiefling bard player (you know it lol) I have to say, 4E's Bael Turath deal was interesting enough that it almost almost negated the "one appearance" thing. I do praise SCAG for saving us in 5E though I curse core 5E for continuing the one appearance thing without any reason...

D&D General In 2025 FR D&D should PCs any longer be wary of the 'evil' humanoids?

Seems like kind of hair-splitting to call that evil of action, given the brain-eating and parasitization of sapient beings when they are themselves sapient beings like, how could they ever not be evil? Dexter-style? I guess a small number of could argue that they "only eat bad people"? But I'm...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

< sigh > 4E changed their backstory over 15 years ago. So the only person you "gotcha'd" there was yourself. They're obviously not going to revert to the 2E backstory, they probably won't even use the 4E one and instead make them have mysterious origins and breed true or something.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I don't think they need any others. Muls need to be 4E-style, not "slave-breeding" style (ugh). Goliaths fit the half-giant role so they can do that. Give us a subrace for elves, dwarves and halflings, bish bash bosh, jobs a good 'un. Maybe some subraces for dragonborn, tieflings, etc. too. We...

Okay here's one: When Kaladin decides not to do a legit slave revolt because his vile, wretched bootlicker of a Spren emotionally blackmails and gaslights him into not doing it, because she's like if Jiminy Cricket was run by corporate HR (and working for Kaladin's slavemaster boss), that's one...
