D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

I mean, that would be a good thing if humans were, say, reduced to a 20-hour (or less) work week. The trouble is, they'd have to be paid a living wage for that work. Modern business doesn't want to do that.

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

Yeah, I think we are in deep, too. I left it vague in case anyone thinks that it counts as political. I don't agree that it does, but I have been wrong about that before.

WotC New WotC Game Design Director for Dungeons & Dragons: Justice Ramin Arman

This is great news. D&D is in good hands. @JusticeArman, congratulations!

Spoilers Non Player Combat - New AI Generated Series on Youtube

Man, the only way that I could answer any of your questions would be to watch it. And I am not sure that I want to.

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

I thought so. I was sure that I remembered your posts. You're like me then - enjoy the thing for a lark, but concerned about the overall impact on skilled professionals. (Mostly, in my case, because I don't trust those with the money to not want to use it to cut others out from their...

D&D General AI Art for D&D: Experiments

Is that Knight in your profile picture not AI generated? I had assumed it was. Either way, I am not a fan of AI in general, but I find the picture programs have their (limited) uses for quickly-generated character and monster pics. I would HATE for humans to lose work over it, though!

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I think you lose all credibility that your analysis has any objectivity whatsoever when you describe any and all design that you don't personally like as "lazy". It's too bad, too - I think I'd enjoy a reasonable critical analysis of the classes.

Around the World in Eighty Days: A Campaign

You've hit my point exactly - which is that one might be able to pull off that monstrosity of rules exploits (at level 18, with a combo of spells and magic items no sane DM ought to be allowing) but it's not exactly a threat to the STORY that the OP is suggesting. It's not likely to be wildly...

Around the World in Eighty Days: A Campaign

I mean no disrespect, but I don't imagine that most games assume that the wildest rules exploits actually exist in their worlds - certainly not commonly available to people. And the fastest speed I've ever seen anyone pull off in either D&D or PF was a few hundred feet in a six second round...

Around the World in Eighty Days: A Campaign

I have a couple of questions: 1) How does one achieve 2500mph in D&D or Pathfinder? 2) What level are you imagining this scenario to be designed for?

    What's the best potato?

I think everyone likes crisps. We just won't vote for them as "the best" because one never sits back after eating crisps and thinks, "Now THAT was amazing!"

I am 100% with you here.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

But I'm NOT missing that part, as I've said repeatedly, and I have also said that I didn't think that I'd have to defend my postion, which as you say, "isn't exactly a hot take or a new one". I said something that I thought was obvious and generally agreed with, and I've had to defend it ever...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Again, that was my POINT. I was trying to illustrate that it wasn't so sophisticated a concept that there was no way that they could have thought of it. I was NOT patting myself on the back for being clever. Zeesh, you've all been a tough crowd here. I thought it was a pretty basic concept...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Yes, I know. My premise was that mismanagement caused missed opportunities, which I have been surprised to need to defend.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Good thing that there are many ways to do it in 5e, then!

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Again, the point wasn't to do a half-baked WoW now, or even 20 years ago, but to have done it first. I totally understand that they weren't capable of it - not back then, and not even now - but I still argue that it could have been done by someone with vision. They obviously lacked (and continue...

Yeah, sorry gang. It's been a bit chaotic around here. I'll push us forward ASAP. (Also: I keep hoping Snarf will pop up!)

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

I agree. I don't see the problem with having settings that have small curated lists of what's available. You don't need to change "kitchen sink" settings like FR to achieve that. But Dragonlance, Dark Sun, and that sort of thing, ought to be extremely limited by comparison.
