You know I'd love to go back in time and see what was said in these calls about '14 5e... did we get exact numbers or anything else that wasn't corporate speak? I just dont get what exactly people are looking for (that is missing in these earning calls but was present in previous calls about D&D)?

Why would they bring it up... it did poorly. That isnt what you want to focus investors on... which again gives some credence to... if they bring it up, its probably meeting and more likely exceeding expectations.

No its not... its the actual company saying these books are selling well in multiple instances and people with no evidence or info claiming its all some type of cover up or lie.

If the '24 books were doing bad or just meeting expectations... wouldn't they avoid mentioning them. I like 'D&D '24 and really dont understand the want or need to find a way to make it a failure. Its just weird.

My main concern about this houserule is that a player is making a decision that is party wide in exchange for a personal resource. I could see that being cool in some games and causing resentment (especially if something bad happens to someone else's PC as a result) in others. What about...

Im going by the stated (by Darrington Press) purpose of the kickstarter... if we assume there's actually no connection then their stated goal doesnt make sense (or they lied which i dont think is the case)... which would give even more credence to this not being a particularly sound way to judge...

Gauging demand is what Darrington Press claimed...do you think its something other than what they said?

Is it... the way its being done doesn't feel like its going to be an accurate predictor for how well it will perform in the commercial market at all.

After reading some of the comments, im not. There are a fair bit of support pledges because people ate CR, Daggerheart fans or fans of the concept. That IMO is worrying since this is to gauge the actual interest in these class packsas a commercially viable product...and that definitely skews...
