Clearly a sign of the End Times.

Lucasfilm wins bid to throw out UK lawsuit over 'resurrection' of 'Star Wars' character

Huh. Hadn't heard about it, and while I despised CGI Cushing (and CGI Carrie Fisher even more!) I was kinda hoping the lawsuit would have been about "Somehow, Palpatine returned!" in Ep. 9. If any Star Wars character and plot decision was deserving of a legal tongue-lashing, it should be that one.

    Burger me!

I think that could be improved by putting the fries on the cheeseburger.

    Whamageddon (Last) Christmas

Still in it, as it turns out the hospital was playing '80s classics, and not Christmas music. Heard a lot of Duran Duran and Men at Work.

    Whamageddon (Last) Christmas

Still in it, but I'm scheduled to spend several hours in a hospital waiting room today so I have this feeling I'm unlikely to survive much longer.

D&D General What You're Missing with Torches in B/X D&D

Torches and flasks of oil were staples in my early D&D days. Nothing like getting three torches deep into a dungeon and tying to decide if you wanted to risk a little more exploration or retreat and replenish your light source (lanterns being expensive and all). "Who is carrying the light...

    Whamageddon (Last) Christmas

Mmmmm ... po' boy. I think I have french bread and shrimp in the freezer come to think of it.

    Whamageddon (Last) Christmas

I wouldn't say favorite, but certainly preferred. I live in the suburbs and probably have six gas stations in a one mile radius, and pass twice that many on the way to work. When you're spoiled for choice you can play favorites.

How do you like to start a campaign

Good integrating hooks: The PCs are all guards on the same caravan... The PCs all meet in prison... The PCs are all students in a wizard's/adventurers school... The PCs are all members of the thieves' guild... The PCs all grew up together in the same small village... The PCs are...

    I have a Battlecat

Well done; there's a shortage of battle-cat riding in D&D!

Dungeons & Dragons (2000) was a passion project turned cinematic disaster

A hundred of these articles couldn't rehab that horrible film. About all I can say in its favor is I think it was better than the Dragons of Autumn Twilight animated film. The first Red Sonja was high cinematic art in comparison.

Yes, but we saw the earplugs and noise canceling headphones you were wearing.

    I have a Battlecat

I think like most cats, you don't have Battlecat; Battlecat has you.

[WIR] The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

Yeah, I'm more in the: "I've read it a few times, I'll stick to the parts I enjoy" mode.

[WIR] The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

I've taken to skipping from the end of Three is Company to the start of At the Sign of the Prancing Pony. Speeds things up dramatically and I don't have to put up with nonsense characters who add nothing to the story.

    Favorite Holiday Song?

What's you favorite holiday song? As we're drifting toward the end of the year, pick your favorite non-specific winter solstice festival song ... or another holiday, should you choose. If you're response is Wham's Last Christmas, then just get yourself to the Whamaggeddon thread and...

RPG Print News – Dolmenwood, G.I. Joe RPG, and More

Dolmenwood's a fantastic product. I backed the Kickstarter just based on the B/X mechanics and art knowing nothing about the setting. I'm really impressed with it. Felt like hitting the lottery.

    What's the best potato?

Canned potatoes are cheap and preserve for a long time. The ones I've used have already been peeled, which cuts down a step in preparation, especially since they tend to be smaller, silver dollar size, which are a real pain to peel. The one's I've used are maybe a hair softer but still firm...
