D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

I didn't quote you at all in that post. I linked your post #269 (Ironically you claimed earlier to have linked a post 3 times but never did in this thead that I see). Go read your last sentence on the post #269 that I linked .... i.e. "at the very bottom of the post" like I instructed you to...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Here is some more on this: 2014 DMG "These optional rules make it easier or harder for adventurers to recover from injury, either increasing or reducing the amount of time your players can spend adventuring before rest is required ..... this optional rule prolongs the amount of time that...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Yes you did, right here (at the very bottom of the post): https://www.enworld.org/threads/is-5e-better-because-of-crawford-and-perkins-leaving.716340/post-9813594 So I guess you admit you are wrong now? But it is a rule that speaks directly and is IN CONTEXT to what we are talking about...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

No they don't say that. It is what you cliam they say and it is preposterous. If they really said what you claim you would be able to provide the exact wording supporting that claim and you can't. Again you avoid posting what you are actually claiming. Being injured and showing signs of...

I play over 20 hours of D&D a week. Of course it is all anecdotal, but it lines up pretty well with the data scraped from places like D&D Beyond. The most recent data I have seen from 2023 has Tieflings, Halflings, Aasimar and Gnomes as the least popular PHB races, in that order (most popular...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Niether your earlier posts, nor the rules actually say what is in red. There is some wording about cuts and bruises but not this. Ignoring that for a moment: So you have a stinger or something with poison, then the hit causes damage, but if you don't there is no damage until you get to 0 hps...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

You didn't put any links in any of your posts on this thread. So what do you mean by "linking it a third time"

Well I personally play a lot of Halflings .... and I am part of all of "ECMO3's groups". It is probably my favorite race or maybe Human is, but it is top 2 for me personally. I don't see a lot of other people I play with who play Halflings though and it is one of the rarest PHB races overall...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

I reread all your posts. I don't see it in there, if it was it would be pretty easy for you to link it. I think you didn't post it, just like you did not post anything from the rules that says only the attack that takes you to zero hit points "does actual damage."

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

What you provided does not support your claim. You are simply wrong, whether you admit it or not and if you could provide something that actually supported your claim you would. I am still waiting to find out why someone who gets stabbed by a poison weapon, or clawed by a Quasit or similar can...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

But how can that be when things "such as cuts and bruises" are not "actual damage" according to you.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

And I say again provide the EXACT WORDING: "the hit that drops you to 0 is the one that does actual damage" This is not the same words and not the same literal meaning as what you keep providing. "An attack" does not literally mean the same thing as "the one". Don't say again that you...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

I am talking about after 50% hit points. I have 20 hit points at full, the mind flayer mind blasts me and does 12, leaving me with 8 hps. The [small] Dragon breathes fire on me for 12 hit points, leaving me with 8 hps. RAW in both these cases I am "bloodied" meaning I have taken real...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Yes, because a mindflayer that mind blasts you, or a Red Dragon that breathes on you or a Cleric that Guiding bolts you will "bloody" you but will not cause "cuts or bruises" Do you have a real citation that says the only hit that does actual damage is the one that takes you 0? I mean if you...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

No it is not. Bloodied is a specific condition and nothing about it mentions cuts and bruises. It does not say you don't have them before you are bloodied. No I didn't. Moreover things can strike you when your hit points are higher, otherwise how do you get poisoned, how do stirges suck...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Ok provide a book and page number that says "the hit that drops you to 0 is the one that does actual damage" This actually contradicts your statement above. I have 10 hit points, I lose 6, now I have 4 and "show signs of wear, such as cuts and bruises." So did that actually do real damage...

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

Right and that would not happen RAW. There are rules for "slitting the throat" of a sleeping humanoid: Any attack roll that hits you is a Critical Hit if the attacker is within 5 feet of you. This goes back to my earlier statement D&D "Fantasy Combat" is "nonsense" as is much of the game...
