Castles & Crusades - Would you pay some XP to get extra-abilities?

Can I get a link to "Buy the Numbers"? Fantasy Flight's "Path of" series for 3.0 had various schools you could train at (spending gold and XP) to gain bonuses to skills, feats, special abilities, etc. Bastion Press's Guildcraft had a similar system for members of organizations (spend XP/money...

    Star Wars - News?

Aha! I knew felt a disturbance in the Force when I first heard that excuse! I thought it had a false ring to it... It just didn't make any sense. You can't even DISCUSS the future of the Star Wars RPG over on the WoTC Star Wars forums (except for what products you'd like to see). That's not...

So anyone get ahold of the A Game of Thrones RPG?

All I wanna know is where is my hardcopy of the deluxe limited edition??? I got my pdf a long time ago. And when are the GoO forums going back up? It's been a month or more!

    Star Wars - News?

I heard WoTC can only release 4-6 Star Wars products per year by the terms of their license with LucasFilm, and the Star Wars Minis game is making too much money to "waste" a release on a Star Wars RPG product. We don't really NEED any new books anyway, except a Revenge of the Sith one (maybe)...

Could you recommand my 4th Star Wars supplement?

You've got the three main books, but I recommend the Arms & Equipment Guide as your next purchase. It's useful for both GMs and Players. It's also $10 cheaper than the hardcovers. You don't really need Ultimate Alien Anthology or Ultimate Adversaries. The players will never know the difference...

    Empire TV series

I don't see the series getting any better in episode 3. Still fails to hold my attention for 60 minutes.

    Sweet old Twilight 2000

We never got past character creation in Twlight: 2000. It was way too complicated, too much math, too much bookkeeping. Yuck! I still want a refund on my old box set. The Free City of Krakow was a cool adventure, however, and reading it is my only fond memory of Twilight: 2000. Never...

When your game starts turning into Velveeta

My advice, short of finding new players or severely tweaking the rules on your own, would be to try a magic rare low fantasy setting and rules set like Conan or (gasp!) HarnMaster. Also watch for the upcoming A Game of Thrones RPG. It's almost impossible to find the kind of cheesy power...

Best resouce for Dark Ages game?

Here's some high quality options for historical OR magic rare low fantasy medieval gaming: 1) Lionheart from Columbia Games. This is a rules generic sourcebook to roleplay in medieval England. $29.99 http://www.columbiagames.com/cgi-bin/query/cfg/zoom.cfg?product_id=7001 2) HarnWorld from...

    A Game of Thrones RPG

The website is finally back online but the Sandor Clegane preview is broken. I just went ahead and ordered a copy of the deluxe edition. Couldn't resist. :D

Guardians Of Order's website seems to be down... I was gonna preorder the deluxe edition, too. Perfect timing! :(

    A Game of Thrones RPG

At first glance, TriStat looks like GURPS to me. Haven't read it in any detail yet though. Is the GURPS comparison offbase? I loved GURPS point-based character creation for its maximum flexibility but hated combat and everything else rules-wise (too complicated). The GURPS sourcebooks were cool.

    A Game of Thrones RPG

I'm downloading it now. Thanks for the tip. How does TriStat compare to d20 and which system do you think is a better fit in your opinion for A Game Of Thrones?

    A Game of Thrones RPG

Jason Durrall, one of the authors of the new Game of Thrones RPG, was kind enough to answer a bunch of rules and related questions over at the Mongoose Conan RPG forum. http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8341&start=15 My questions and Jason's answers are on page 2 of the...

    A Game of Thrones RPG

Don't know about Gen Con. I think you can buy a copy of the TriStat rules from Guardians of Order for $10 as a sample but am not sure. I've had no experience or interest in it, but in all fairness, I know absolutely nothing about it. I just find my friends and I rarely have time to learn new...

    A Game of Thrones RPG

Just finished reading The Hedge Knight and The Sworn Sword. Both very good, but not as good as the main books. You do get to see House Fossoway split into its Red Apple and Green Apple branches, which was a question I didn't mind being answered after wondering why they were split like that in...

    Empire TV series

It was bland and a tad on the boring side. More fights please! The story was cliche, and seemed like a retread of Gladiator but nowhere near as cool. A fairly good cast (particularly Marc Antony, Cicero and Julius Caesar) but the young Octavius was stupid and annoying. Not being much up on Roman...
