Ah, good point. I guess if you're actually casting the spell, you could do it every day and something like this is needed. I never play that high of a level, so wishes are rare and I'd be a little more permissive than normal, I guess.

What's the game like? Is it a long campaign or a one-shot? Is magic rare or are wishes like fishes? Does it involve a lot of comedy or is it serious? If this is a long, serious, campaign where a wish isn't something you see every day, then the DM is being a jerk if you don't get what you ask...

It's free, so there's not much money to save or spend.

I just mean, in D&D terms, they're pretty powerful. It would work better as a FATE or AW game, I think.

A new skin on the magic system would be cool, but I'm not sure the planeswalker-as-PC concept translates well to D&D. Planeswalkers would work better as patrons/BBEGs.

The rule is fine, in my opinion. It's heavy-handed DMs that think screwing over the players is their job that is the real problem. I feel for ya, dude. :/

The MOST important question is, "Can lava melt falling bodies?"

Put an ice cube in a fire and see how long it takes to melt. Then consider how long a fireball lasts. Then consider how this is a game and think how it might be cool to allow it to slag lead and gold without burning anyone's pants off...

We'll have to agree to disagree, I guess. I'm all for rulings for edge cases, but changing fundamental rules on the fly goes past my personal boundaries as a DM.
