And since characters get rerolled if they don't have one 14, they will probably start with 14 in their spellcasting stat. The talent roll at 1st level has a very good chance of bumping that up to a 16. And humans get two talents. I love the spellcasting in SD. I thought about one free casting...

Only played a little Dragonbane but definitely want to play more. It's a great game. We've been playing Fabula Ultima. Love the character creation. And it's fun just leaning into the tropes without worrying that it's too clichéd.

I love the original animated version. Here's hoping the live action lives up to it. It looks pretty good in the trailer. Fingers crossed!

The title superhero came from the miniatures game, Chainmail, and just meant tougher than hero figures. It has nothing to do with comics but the title always sounded off. 😁

@SlyFlourish, the GM in the SD game I played in did the same thing as you, but with Cursed Scroll #3. He said he had so much fun expanding on the zine. It turned into quite the epic, but with far fewer PC deaths. 😁 We played cautiously, and didn't taunt dragons, for example. 😂

I have too many sweet spots, which is not good for my finances! 😅

The flexibility is great. I used 5e Theros with pulp mode Shadiwdark and added in the God given feats from Theros with a bit of tweaking. I dropped the torch timer because it didn't fit the tone. I changed the xp system to "number of adventures" rather than treasures gained. Totally different...

In the core book. I'm not at home right now so can't get exact page number. It's a page with suggestions for different modes of play. We start with max hp and then roll for later levels. Not a suggestion in book but a common change.

I'm a big fan of this podcast. The banter is amusing, without getting boring. And I enjoy the reviews, which often steer me to products I hadn't heard of.

If you're aiming at kids, having a little math is great. Games are a perfect way for kids to strengthen their math while having fun, and it won't scare them away.

Oh, I know. I do this in other genres. I just struggle running super heroes, even though I've played and enjoyed supers games. Not exactly sure why. I'll probably try again some day. I do like Icons, Worlds in Peril, Marvel Cortex and I played a lot of FASERIP.
